Our first storm of the Winter 2013-2014 started today at about 12:30 PM in my area got about 2.3" as of now. It was fun to watch the Eagles play the Lions at home in Phila. in what looked like a white at times:P
Switching to rain over night so we got to watch for ice in the AM.
Be carful out there!:help:

About the same here. Started at 9:00 AM and switched over to rain about 5:00 PM. Driveway is clear. Cars are cleaned. If temps drop any more it'll be an icy mess in the morning.

Started to snow a little bit here in north Jersey.
Meanwhile, I'm watching (with disgust) the Giant game in San Diego where the weather is beautiful.
With one life to live, why the heck did I ever stay in the Northeast?
My wife's cousin moved to San Diego in the 70's when her husband's job got relocated. Then, his company told him they needed him to move back to New Jersey.
He resigned, and they still live in San Diego. They never gave going back to Joisey a second thought.
His quote, "we ain't going back to the Northeast, period".
I envy them.

I was on a business trip to San Diego back in the 80's.
I'm driving to the San Diego airport. Folks were driving one way towards the mountains, while others were driving the opposite direction to the beach.
It was 70 degrees.
I got off the plane in Newark. It was 11 degrees.
I had a shot of moving to the west coast back in the mid 70's. (My company wanted someone to open and manage a new warehouse in California.)
I backed out. Wife wouldn't leave her family.
I always wondered "what if ??".

Thought it would be a good idea to take wife in MM to AC yesterday for a night out. Driving home today around 11:30am was very dangerous! Friggin' weather-folk were off by about 3 hours!!! In this day-and-age of high-tech forecasting, I find that error unacceptable. I was very concerned, but we did make it home in 1 piece.
Marauder + snow-covered Parkway = ....:drive:

I always liked the rare occasions that we got over 3 or 4 inches of snow when we lived up in the DC area. But that was so infrequent. Anything less was a pain in the rear and usually wound up with ice and freezing rain afterwards. Ya'll be safe!

My niece and her friends went to Atlantic City for the weekend. It took her 6.5 hours to drive back to Baltimore. Should have been a 2.5 hour ride. Roads covered and slick. She was stuck at the Delaware Memorial Bridge for awhile.

Federal Gov't in DC Metro area is closed. All school systems are closed. Started at 6:00 AM and already an inch is on the ground. Coming down hard and heavy. Am staying home to enjoy the Winter Wonderland rather than fight the roads and other drivers.

2" have fallen around my way since it started about 6:15-6:30am. Most main roads were either lightly covered or wet, big fleet of trucks already out slinging salt and will probably start plowing after morning commute has lessened.

About 2-3" here now in Perry Hall, MD--still snowing
Lucky we are to not have to travel in the mess--just enjoying the snow scenery from inside the house.
Be careful, anyone who has to travel in it!!!!

You guys crack me up. :D
Last weekend in Calgary, we had a solid arctic front, providing near -40 temps (C or F!) and have been one of the coldest places on the planet with plenty of plowing and snowblowing to go around.
Remember, it can ALWAYS be worse!
Anyway, I have the front of my Marauder pulled off completely, sending the Vortech in to get upgraded to an Si and a rebuild, and am trying to sort through the mess of 8-rib pulleys, OD crank, Zack saying leave it at 6-rib, and wondering if my tensioner will hold up and if I shouldn't have bought Roger's Thumper. No Marauder for me until April 2014! :mad2:

So nice not to have to drive in it anymore. I never really minded the snow that much, it was the below zero temps I hated. Once my hands got cold, I was miserable. Its already been well below 0 where I used to live with something like 24" of snow already. Do not miss it. 72* and lt rain here at da beach.

Ray I am so happy for you and glad that you got someplace warm:)
NJ is no where near as bad as the snow belt you live in, tons & tons of snow each year!
Enjoy the beach and cold beer:beer:

What a difference being retired can make when it comes to snow.
When I worked, I was always concerned about getting to/from work, or getting to the airport, or getting home from a business trip.
Now, I look out the window, see snow falling, and either go back to sleep or get a cup of coffee.
(Also, having my first 4X4 helps a lot.)
But, it looks that, from the predicted weather patterns, my 64 Galaxie and 2003 TBird are going to spend a lot of time in the garage this winter.

Man its crazy to see people who have never experienced a Michigan winter. Down in the southern part of the mitten we received about 6 inches in the last week. Far from the snowfall we got at my house "up north" we call it which is about 3 hours away from Detroit in Gaylord, Michigan close to the top of the mitten. we got a foot of snow last week and just in the last 2 days got another foot of snow. A grand total of about 26" in the winter wonderland. Cant wait to get up and ride my new snowmobile! Cheers to snow!

Looks like we'll be flirting with the upper 60's and T-storms this weekend here in the NJ/NY metro area.
Good.
Clean the salt off the streets and I can drive my old cars a bit.
