Well my daughter just loves my marauder and last time she drove it ( with me in the car of course ) was about 6 months ago. So today is a very hot & muggy day and for some strange reason I just wanted to put a big smile on her face so guess what I did ? I let her drive it again thats right. She's a really good driver and drive's pretty cool too.*( Just so it is clear their is no street racing / drag racing involved in this story )* I let her take it on the on to RT 27 near my home ( the road was empty ) once she was moving around 25-30 mph I let her hit it and bring it up to approx 65 mph ( Speed limit at that point of the road is 65 ) . She handled it very well. Next for some reason I just can't explain I took her on a back road and from a standing start I let her spin the rear tires just a little. After that we went to Star Bucks for coffee & I drove the marauder home. She still has a big smile on her face, I wonder why ?

Good story! Yeah, I know the feeling! I let my son drive the car this past summer and then again a week ago. Never let him do a burnout. But then again, it's a lot easier with a Trilogy! :up:He says "no wonder you are so in love infatuated with this car!"

I think I posted this a few years ago......but this was a classic memory that those that witnessed still recall
I had just completed the trilogy upgrade on my MM. My daughter was getting married and we were going from the rehearsal dinner to the church for the wedding rehearsal. I had a car full...two up front and Four in the back seat with several cars in the group following. We pull up to a light in Buckhead ( in Atlanta). A Mercedes SL 65 pulled up beside me........revved his engine......and I'll never forget my wife's comment from the center back seat " OH No.....please don't". I probably would not have done anything had she not made that comment .......... But now....it was game on. The light turned green....I mashed the gas......tires broke loose and the car walked right towards the Benz. The Benz backed out, my tires hooked and I left him standing.
I had also had a complete exhaust upgrade(thanks Bryan Jones) and the MM was fairly tame at idle....but when I gassed it I think I scared the crap out of the Benz driver.
Anyway.....this was from 2007 and I still get comments from those that witnessed that big 'ol 4 door sedan w/ 6 people that smoked the SL65 :D

My 17 year old son has my old Marauder. Tune, cai, pulleys, headers, 4.10s, j-mod that scratches hard! So far only good reports back on his driving! He has commented how he really likes the way it shifts though!?

I reluctantly had to let my little brother drive my car one day that he needed a car and it was the only one around and I had to work. He always hates on my Mustang and doesn't really say squat about my Vic. When I gave him my keys and explained all the rules with it he was confused. When I explained he was getting to drive my car for the day his face lit up with the biggest grin I've ever seen. I was dreading letting him use it the whole time until I saw that smile. Actually made me smile. Might be able to convert him to a Ford lover yet

Very cool story and I also do spend time with my daughter in the Marauder to go have lunch. We always get people that like the car and sound of the exhaust when we pull up. Fun times with my little girl :):):)

I remember having dinner with your family at Marauderville IV, she was so young then!
Kids grow up fast...I can't believe my oldest is 27!

I still remember the first time my dad let me drive his car on public roads.

It was 1957, I was 15 (no license), it was a three speed column shift 1952 Plymouth, 2 dr station wagon, and we were on vacation in northern New Hampshire (rt 302). (We rented a cabin; $1.50 per night.)

My mom was having fits in the back seat.

you guys are old, my daughter is only 3..... :lol:My Daughter is only a year younger than you!

She's only driven the 03 once, on her eighteenth birthday, let her drive me home from a party, I'd been drinking. (Had to set the example!;)) "Take it easy!" as she proceeds to floor it, squealing the tires!

All three daughters have driven the 04, even by themselves.
