Hey guys! I have an issue right now with my Marauder and I have an idea of what it is but I want to run it past here.

The other day I was driving down the road at a steady 40mph and my car started to 'chug' or hesitate. I was able to get home fine but when I was on my way to dinner, it did it again and then I came to a stoplight and the battery light flashed and the car died. It started right back up but the idling was low and kept wanting to give out on me. Also, when I look at my volts meter, the dial can flicker all of the way up to 17 and as low as 12. Right now it's between 16-17 volts, and continues to idle real low when I come to a stop with the battery light flashing on and off. When I punch it with gas it runs just fine. I was thinking it may be an alternator issue and having to replace the voltage regulator instead of the whole alternator. Also may be a fuel pump problem?

I'd really appreciate all of the help and input from you all! Happy Holidays!

Wiring harness had been rubbed thru the entire insulation in the fender.

Sounds like the alternator is going out. Could also be the battery. Take the car to ax FLAPS or Sears and have them checkout the charging system. They will do it free of charge.

17v is way too high. Get your alternator issue sorted out first and go from there.

Sounds like the alternator. Good luck. Nice username.
