I have been perusing the member list her at MM.net. I would encourage everyone to take the time and look at all of the members profiles. I was really amazed at the variety of careers people have and the geography of those on the list. What a group we all are, blue collar, white collar, no collar, students, teachers, retirees, gentlemen and ladies.
Lawyers, LEO's, mechanics, IT people, railroaders, pilots, farmers. What binds this group together? Two simple words, MERCURY MARAUDER. We read the posts, become informed, laugh at the antics of Marty and Todd, talk politics, cry when one of us has a tragedy, take joy in a birth or a wedding. We fight like siblings over mods and opinions, but all pull together when we need to. In short, we are a family, held together by a common bond of love for the last American muscle car.
We spend our money like drunken sailors to tweak an extra horsepower or 2 out of the 4.6. We revel in stories about DR, Lidio, Mac, Dave, and all the others who push their cars(and pocketbooks) to the upper limits. I have only been a member since last June, but I have made friends here that will last a lifetime.
Thanks Logan for making this possible, and thanks to all the members here for making this site the best specialty automotive site on the net. I have been involved with MV2 from the get-go, and I encourage everyone to try to make it to Indy for this meet. Please make plans to turn this "cyber-family" into a living breathing family by coming to Indy at the end of July
On a side note, if you have not filled out your profile as to your location, your interests, your occupation etc: I urge you to do so, and when you are done, read through some of the profiles and become as amazed as I was when I read through it.
You might also want to consider donating to the site, I know Logan doesn't push for money, he likes to keep it free, but if you enjoy reading the posts, seeing the pics, and just enjoying the company of this board, send a few bucks to MM.net. It isn't tax deductable, but for as much enjoyment as you get from it, its well worth the $$$. Just my .02
