Came out to the car this morning and had a puddle underneath my floormats. It has rained on and off the last 2 days... car has not been driven. All windows and doors were rolled up and closed all the way. no water anywhere else... so i know it didnt leak from the window. Behind the pedals are completely dry. The wet area is just the flat part of the floorboard. Does anyone have any idea where the water may have came in from. I assuming there is a hole or sonmething in the firewall or something. Any knowledge anyone can give will be appreciated.... i dont want it to rain again and this happens, this is the first time it has ever happened.
I have felt up under the dash to see if anything was wet but i didnt find anything wet ... **** is depressing.

i would say maybe the wiper cowl, where the water drains from the windshield, maybe pour some water in there and see if it drips from anywhere

does sound pretty similar but behind his pedals is dry, maybe dripping down from behind the dash somewhere?!?!?

Could try sitting in the car and having someone just spray the car a little with water to track down where it's coming from. Don't have them having the water on full blast though and make sure they can hear you tell them to stop right when you see where it's coming from to keep from getting it all soaked again.
It's more of a last resort or not wanting to wait for others who may have had it happen to chime in though seeing as it'd be getting a little water inside again.
And that's all just if your not up north where it's getting colder and colder

I'd check the firewall. There are alot of grommets, plugs and harnesses that go thru. Look at each one , make sure none are compromised.

I had this problem with my 99 Town Car. Pulled the cowling and found tons of debris. I thought I fixed it, but it came back. I never did figure it out before I sold the car.

get a can of that sealer spray, open the hood and peel back the carpet, spray down the vertical seam beside the door, and every other seam in sight, clean cowl and drain holes, and presto, no more leak, ask me how I kniow

Car has been sitting since this incident. I dried the floorboard and it rained a day or so after... floor was moist again but no where near as wet before. I plan on attacking this this weekend. The idea with the garden hose seems like the first thing i will do. HOPEFULLY it will be a easy fix.
Thanks for all the answers
