To nite I ran at No Problem Raceway, mostly 13.9 and 14.0. The track was slippery for most of the nite.
I beat a Porshe Cayenne Turbo 3 out of 4 runs,(the run he beat me on I tried walking it out do to traction issues)
I beat 3 Mustang GT, ( 2 4.6 and 1 5.0)
A new C-5 Corvette just nosed me with a 13.85
Ran neck and neck with a 1948 Frod Coupe powered by a 350 strocked to 383 and a munice 4 speed.
I also ran consistantly better times than the following;
Late model Camaro Z28
Late model T/A WS6
Duramac p/u
Dodge Neon R/T
Late model Camaro RS.
Over a dozen people were very impressed and asked me about the car. Several admirers came by an chatted.
The guy that owned the Cayene's brother had an AMG C55 that had just come from Winstons and ran an 11.85.
The only N/A car to beat me was the Corvette.
On my last run I got beat by an Esclipse, he ran a 13.535.

Not too shabby at all!!! What I'm curious about though is the story w/the Camaro Z28. It must have been a pre-99 Camaro, because the latest ones were pretty quick w/that LS-1 engine they had. The 90's Z28's had the LT-1 engines which weren't slouches either, but the LS-1 engines had more power and would beat any N/A Marauder. Unless ofcourse the guy had more traction problems than you were having.

Good runs. I didn't beat anyone last night, although I ran the 1/8 a little quicker. Bests were 2.192-60', 6.259-330' (twice), and 9.512-1/8 (also twice). I was pretty consistent, 2.210 worst 60', 6.348 worst 330', and 9.547 worst 1/8. Best mph 76.58, worst 76.22. My main goal was the light thing. Best was .023, worst (not counting reds) .176. It looks like I've got to wait for that last yellow to come on, can't cheat it without redlighting. I'll just keep practicing, FFW is right around the corner. I'm also pretty interested in seeing what my new 1/4 times will be.

The Z28 was in like new condition w/ a fancy hood, exhaust and wheels.
I met up with him at the air station after his run. He definitely had traction problems. I only hooked up 2X out of 10 runs. They treated the track 2X.
At one point I got so ticked off about the traction problem I sat out for 45 minutes till the slicks laid some rubber down on the track.
The Z28 was convinced I had an S/C, I raised my hood to show him I did not.
The WS6 T/A owner told me he rarely got in the 13's.

Well, weeknight racing is usually all about street racing. The majority of the cars that come out on a weeknight, esp. on Friday night, are high school kids that are more excited about how long and how loud of a peel out they get AFTER the light turns green. It's rare to see anyone with a slick and tracks typically don't waste VHT on these events.
However, go to a track that caters to racers on a Saturday or Sunday racing event and you'll likely see 90% of the cars running slicks. You can smell the VHT when you drive in and the groove looks like the yellow brick road!

Sorry, I had to work for a second. I see a lot of upsides to the weeknight thing myself, less cars, more runs etc. I was able to get 15 runs and supper into a 1&1/2 hr trip to the track. The other thing that I noticed, and would be curious about your runs, is this. I would run 3 times in a row. Every time, the third run of the set was the quickest and fastest. Usually around .02 than the first. I'm not sure if it's tire heat or what. So much for the cool down period between runs. Maybe it's fluid temp, but the car never really got cool.

Ok, for a novice like me what's the difference in Salesman's car vs. BillyGman's. Is it Billy's Kook's headers?
Salesman SAE Corrected Dynojet 273.4 HP / 294.0 TQ et 13.913
BillyGman SAE Corrected Dynojet 294 HP / 309 TQ et 13.513
They seem pretty much the same when comparing mods.

Beating the Porshe Cayenne Turbo $89,000 450HP/460TQ was the most fun! The owner said when he last ran at the track they used Flags in the early 1960's.
The 1948 Ford Coupe told me it was his dad's car and he drove it in high school. He had a 327 w/ NOS, ran a 75 shot, then a 100 shot, then a 150 shot and blew the engine. He then put in the stroked 350 to a 383 w/ NOS. He said he only had 1,000 miles on the engine and was debating on wether or not to use the NOS.
The body was perfect and the interior was sharp but showing some age.
The four times I have been to the track on Wed they always had 6-10 cars running sub 11.0. Last nite a 1963 Corvette ran an 8.0.
There have been any where from 20 to 45 cars on street tires with 15% imports. 85% of the drivers have been 35 years old and up.
Last nite a GNX ran a 12.38. Cobra ran a 12.85. Vortex Mustang GT 13.08 and another Vortec Mustang GT ran 14.1.
I got ticked about the traction because 2 weeks ago it was hard to spin, then the track grabbed like a Gorllia. You probably have a point because 2 weeks ago the ricers were complaining about bogging down, most of them could not spin the tires or do a burn out. Several I spoke to 2 weeks ago indicated the burn out was important, I was telling them to try and skip the burn out on every run and not heat up the clutch, but they ignored what I was saying and looked at me like I was crazy.

They seem pretty much the same when comparing mods.Different cars even with similar setups can get different numbers. Also, different Dyno-Jet machines can give different results.
My last/best #s SAE 295 RWHP / 320 RWTQ

Yep, looks that way to me too. Having built my first Marauder to that same level, it would be my guess that sailsman collected his dyno data before adding the Cobra exhaust...Just a guess...
