The COT gets shortened back just less than an inch and the height gets shortened down about just less than an inch.
I'll see if I have any pics.

Not criticising, but why does it look all rippled?

It's ribbed.... for your pleasure! :P J/K! It was because of the grinding I did on the welds and being impatient to see what it would look like. It's smooth and PC'd black now. The chrome PC looks awesome until you lay a clear PC over it, then it just looks silver.

Here's Sherm's made from a Marauder tube, chrome powder no clear. Its pretty much a pain to do.

If you do modify your COT. Make sure and pressure test it.

My big question is on drivers side the large hose connection that goes straight down. What happens to it. Its right beliw where the upper radiator hose connects?

IMHO just get a COT delete kit and be done with it.

I got rid of that "T" section on the COT. It's off to the side near the battery now.

Did you buy the T somewhere or make it?

My buddy Justbob made it out of copper plumbing fittings soldered together.

See the T's in my pic. Home depot had them no soldering required. Also you can see where I capped the original down connection on the COT just cut it short. Like in Guspech's pic too. I use a pipe cutter to remove the required pipe before welding. Its tight but doable get the small pipe cutter.

COT delete kit is the easiest solution unless your a fabricator or drink beer with a fabricator :)

I don't know if one is better than the other. Make sure you buy a kit for two coolant sensors though.
