Fellow Carolina Marauders,

While it's currently 22 degrees with a windchill of 4, I'm thinking about springtime and car shows, g-t-gs, Looseville, etc.

Just curious if anyone would be interested in meeting up on a Saturday prior to Looseville...thinking early March and somewhere near Charlotte, as that would be a good central location. There's gotta be a car show or something we could all meet up for.

Whaddya guys think?

We've been getting together for the BOC (Blue Oval Classic) the first weekend in May, which is put on by the FOAC...you might be talking about that.

I'm just itchin' to have a g-t-g. I know the weather is kinda sucky this time of year, but it'll be warming up in a couple months. Just don't want to have to wait until April or May to meet up.

I'm down for something. I'm not going to be able to make looseville since I can't get that much time off work, but weekends and possibly a friday are no problems. I'm gonna be in ATL March 22, but other than that I don't think there's anything going on.

The only car show in the Charlotte area is this; http://www.charlotte-autofair.com/ But its on the same weekend as Looseville (April 3-6,2014). I'll probably be going to CMS for the Auto Fair since I can't get the time off from work to go to Louisville.

I wonder if Z-Max will be open by then...maybe take a few runs down the strip? If we get enough of us together, we can have our own car show...lol.

Spent a couple hours last night looking for events happening in the CLT area the second weekend in March and came up with nothing.

The only other thing I can think of is meeting up at the NC Transportation museum in Spencer (about 40 miles NE of Charlotte). They're open from 9-5 on Saturdays, so we could spend a couple hours there in the afternoon, then head to Twin Peaks afterwards?

Anything going on in the Greensboro or Columbia areas that weekend? What about Myrtle Beach? I would be able to make it an overnight trip, but I know not everyone else would..

Well fellas, I've spent the last couple hours trying to find stuff to do the weekend of the 8th-9th, and have come up with nothing. Going to the NASCAR hall of fame popped into my mind, but it costs $20 to get in, and another $5-10 for parking (depending on how long you stay). Not many cruise-ins going on around Charlotte (there are a handful, but they happen during the week).

If there's still interest in going to the Transportation museum in Spencer followed by a visit to Twin Peaks on the 8th of March, lemme know.

If I'm missing something, please post it up.

In Greensboro on March 6-8, there is a classic car auction that I have attended a number of times before & it is held 3 times a year. The entry fee is $ 15 & there's around 450 cars up for auction. Wherever the consensus decides to meet will work for me on that weekend. www.gaaclassiccars.com

I think that's a negative, ghostrider....seemed that only you, me, and jwibbity showed actual interest, and jw won't be able to make it since his car is in the shop.

I've got tentative plans to head over to Russ's place this weekend, so if something pops up at the last minute, I might be in the Charlotte area and be able to join...

My work schedule may change after June 30, so I can finally attend some Saturday morning car shows, meets etc. :banana:
