Okay, as promised, here is a video my son took while I ran the Marauder down the 1/8th mile before Christmas. Keep in mind, this IS my first time at a dragstrip, too! So, go easy on me!

It was ugly, but fun! Like a 2.3 60ft and 10 sec.:o There was a lot of spin on the 1st to 2nd upshift. I think I lost a lot of time there. I wasn't expecting that much spin, so it freaked me out! You can hear it in the video. :burnout:

+1 on that. You will get better once you figured out how your car likes to launch. Practice makes perfect as Gma used to say. :)

I know what you mean! Now that the car has been emptied out of all the crap I had in there when I went racing (subs included), I bet I would pick up a couple tenths just in weight savings! :P Except, it is still at the paint shop. Should be done next week. I might have to let the paint dry a little more before I start going to the track and doing better burnouts and getting rubber stuck all over the freshly (and long awaited) painted Marauder bumper! :burnout:

Cool. It's always fun going to the track but it seems to go hand in hand with spending more $ to make the cars go faster.

A suggestion to keep the paint safe when doing burnouts get painters tape from the auto store and cover the rear where the rubber sticks with the tape. Then when your done for the day just peel the tape and rubber right off

or spray wd-40 on the bumper, makes the rubber wipe right off

Also a video tip for the future. Hold the phone horizontally when taking video/pictures, that will give the camera the correct perspective. You'll have much better videos of your runs :D

Example (taken with a cheapo smart phone)
