Hey guys I just bought a 4r75w from a 2004 (low miles) and was wondering if there is anything I need to know before attempting the swap into my 2003B ?

All advice would be greatly appreciated

thank you in advance

Actually the 2004 has a different output drum with more indexes (double I think) than the 2003. It will still shift, but it thinks the ouput shaft is turning much faster than it is. It can be corrected in a tune by changing the value for the output shaft sensor.

Or you can change the planatary gear set from 2004 to 2003 but the 2004 and up is a stronger gear set.

Im surprised the 2004 works in a 2003 and shifts the same.

Yes your going to have to update the tune....do you have an xcal2/3? I'll dig up the info.. Here you go the output ring gear is different and reads a 24 pulse OSS wheel vs the 6 pulse in the 03-down 4r70ws. This needs to be updated in your tune.

Oops. I forgot that I did get the tune at same time the tranny went in. Sorry.
