Just wanted to post some information about these two vehicles, so anyone who has more information on them can post it....
FBI Marauder... In 2005 I was working in a parking lot behind some restaurants in Coral Gables, FL. A silver Marauder pulled in to park in the lot next to the one I was working in. I could see the license plate, "US Government." That got my attention, so I walked over to look at the car. On the side of each front fender were Cobra Snake emblems. That really got my attention. As soon as the guy came back to his car, I asked him about the car. He said that there were only five of these, and that they were purchased by the FBI. I asked him, what do you do, fight terrorists? He said he had another one with bullet holes in it.
He also claimed the car had it's own braking and high performance package.
How much of that was just standard Marauder equipment, or standard police or highway patrol packages, I have no way of knowing. I do believe the snake emblems were legit, i.e. I can't see the guy putting snake emblems on a government car; these looked like factory emblems and looked to be factory installed.

I have an attorney friend who lives in Miami Lakes. He owns a late model Marauder and Crown Vic. He bought the Crown Vic, because it was one of few Crown Vics made (as he told me) with a console and floor shift automatic transmission. I saw this car as well, and it does have a floor shifter and console.

I'd guess the CV is a Sport model.

As for the FBI I have heard they bought a few, but other than that, I don't know much else about them. Also heard they had a fleet of Grand Nationals.

The "Snake" emblems are Cobra emblems, and did not come from the factory in any way, shape or form.

Someone added those as several members here have.

Mike.

Member G-Man had a company car that was a Silver Birch MM with SVT Cobra Long Block and Trilogy #22. It was wired with all the lights and flashers. Under hood said "Property of the US Government" but he was wearing regular tags. Haven't seen him around CAMLand in a long while.

Here's a couple pics from July 2005 .....

Since you saw the car more than 8 years ago, I would bet the gummint doesn't own it anymore.

As to the CV w/console shifter, it was a Sport, as Mr. Man said.

You are probably correct. G-Man hasn't been around since 2011 and hasn't posted since 2008. He was only active in CAM for about 1-2 years. Probably sent to keep an eye on Haggis. ;) or ME !!! :o

In 2006 I came across a Black Marauder in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.
I was at a hamburger restaurant located on Cypress Creek road near a train station. The car was loaded with laptops and radio equipment. The front passenger area was filled with monitor screens.
I did have a chance to speak to the driver but he would not tell me what branch of government he was with.
During the discussion he told me the car was equipped with a heads-up display. I begged him to turn it on and show me, he jokingly said... "If I do then Ill have to kill you." The car was -definitely -a Marauder and well taken care of. I wonder if that car still exists and who has it.

In 2006 I came across a Black Marauder in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. The car was loaded with laptops and radio equipment. That might have been one of the 30 Marauders specially prepared for the FHP.

I don't get putting standard gov tags on supposed low profile units. When I was active we had "confidential" plates in our state. If you ran one it came back non of your business. Usually within 24 hrs your phone rang wanting to know why it was run and by whom...

Here's one from Fla w/ Cobra emblems. A lot of people think Marauders and Cobras have exact same engine inside and out and I did also up until about 2 years ago when I start researching doing the Eaton swap and my performance shop told me...same displacement, share some same parts, internals not forged same as Mach 1....I was shocked. But I've run across people that think the Marauder, GM & CV have the same engines because they are all 4.6's so I'm no longer shocked by lack of knowledge. I just use the time to try and explain the difference and show if I'm near my car. I have already decided that if I got a 2nd one and it had Cobra emblems on it they MUST come off even if the engine has been modded with Cobra internals or not

Might be a seized car that the police decided to use for themselves. Like Miami Vice and their fleet of Ferrari's. ;)

Many Florida Hi-way Patrol marauders had them as well [ DR install after tune and mods ] ?;)

The FHP ones were all prepared by DR. Putting the Cobra emblems on them was part of the FHP package.

Amazing, the urban legends from this car. And that, is why I LOVE IT.

If this is the case, the one I found on Autotrader and posted it in post #12 may very well be an ex-FLA H.P. car because I have seen them before on the web stated as ex-FHP cars.

The day I brought mine to work, an employee that had served time in Alabama was drooling over my ride. He said several inmates spoke of the Marauder used to catch them on the highway, and boy did those guys fear a MM ;) That Silver Birch FHP car in previous post is a beauty.

It would be fun to pick up one of the ex FHP's and turn it into a drag car. They are likely beat to hell anyway. Wouldn't feel as bad for doing it.

That was his personel car that he bought with his own money and was allowed to use it for business. He traded it in for a Mercedes, that his wife wanted.
