3.55's for another car?

Ok, so I've got my 4.10s in the box still waiting to be installed. But I was wondering if the 3.55s will work on my friends v6 '00 mustang, or even if they will help any other car. Ofcourse I might just keep them just in case.

The 3.55 gears from your MM will not fit your friend's 2000 V6 Mustang because it has a 7.5 rear end. The 3.55s are made for a 8.8 rear end. Even if your friend upgraded to a GT 8.8 rear, the car already has a 3.27 ratio, so there won't be too much of a change. Another thing with used gears, they tend to whine when installed elsewhere.

3.55 gears is a common upgrade for Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car,

The 3.55 rear was standard on my 2000 GM with the handling package.

I'm not sure, but I think an 8.8" is an 8.8" is an 8.8".

1986+ V8 mustangs were all 2.73/3.08 for 5 speeds and 3.08/3.27 for autos.

3.55s might be Maruader paperweights, but they work great in 5.0s. so I think they should be worth something to somebody.

Lots of F150s have 8.8" rears too.

I'm going to try to swap mine against part of the labor bill... we're about the only Ford performance people that don't want 3.55s!
