EATC issues

I have the EATC issue where are flow only comes out of the defrost vents no matter what I do on the controls. I have read many many post where this is an o-ring problem but I'm not sure that's all it is.
Most people are able to run the SELF TEST but it doesn't work on my unit. I hold the OFF and FLOOR buttons, with engine running or stopped with key on, and nothing happens when I hit the AUTO button. I do hear the blower cycling up/down if I hold OFF/FLOOR long enough.
There is an LKQ yard not far from me. I've considered swapping the unit out but I would also like to be sure if that will fix it or if it's just an o-ring issue. I did see one post that said the test never worked on their unit and that it died later and had to be replaced.
Does anyone have this same issue with the SELF TEST function?

The self test works.... sometimes.

i have tried the self test many many times and it has not worked but i don't know if it ever did. there was no need to do a test before this problem came up.
do you have the NEW silicone o-rings?

Yes... New silicone o-rings and silicone dilectric grease..... Guarranteed for as long as the car is on the road.

I also fix LCM's.

Jim won't steer you wrong. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself he'll fix you up.

I thought mine was shot too but tried new orings anyway, it took a few cycles but everything works flawless now. It's definitely worth a shot, as it's the cheap way out and usually fixes the issues.
