I have had an issue with my power door locks for a while. A member told me to look for a bad ground wire, somewhere near the drivers rocker panel. Before I start tearing the car apart, does anyone know specifically where this is? Is there actually a ground wire under the drivers rocker panel? The plastic when you open the door I take it?

Grounds are located in the engine compartment and behind each kick panel.

Any bolt on a ford that is green in color, is a ground

Dom, what exactly is the issue?

The ground for the door locks, G200, is behind the kick panel on the passenger side...but that ground also ties in to a large number of other devices which would also be having problems if the ground was at fault.

The issue is with my door locks and has been for months... I am sick of it, but do not know where to start working.

The door locks will work fine when the key is not in the ignition or in the off position. When I start the car, all doors unlock as if I used the power switch to unlock the doors. When they unlock and the car is running, the switch will be useless, will not do anything. The doors will lock automatically when I put the car in reverse, but the switch will still not work. When in drive the switch will not work.

Only when I turn the car off, will the power locks be under control. Again, when the car is turned on they will not work, only when the car is off.

Almost sounds like a problem with the drivers door module to me. I don't think the point of ground changes between running and off.

I guess I will check the connections. Is there a repair to this or do I have to replace it?

You'd need to replace it.

Awesome.

Still, a fix on this car every month is less than a lease. ;)
