Last night I brought her home. 2003 black Mercury Marauder with 87k miles. bone stock. does have the 6 disk changer in the trunk. I would have posted up sooner but I've been out enjoying the car. wow. After saving and looking for months I finally found the right vehicle. The car is salvage titled, but you wouldnt know it. I saw the car after the original accident, damage was very minimal. Not sure why it was salvaged but I dont mind. During the test drives I did have to romp on it once or twice just to make sure everything's in working order. Wow. Big power difference from the p71. Big power comes with big responsibility. From now on im going to be taking my time to get used to the vehicle. Besides, the local race track opens up on march 5th for Wednesday night drags, the perfect time and appropriate place to enjoy my new found power. Cant wait to see what she'll do in the quarter mile, and I really cant wait to get some exhaust on her. Im rather overwhelmed, the car is exactly what I've been dreaming of for 6 years. I still cant believe it. I have to thank my father, without his help we wouldn't have been able to pull it off. Dad bought back the p71 from me so Vicky is still gonna be in the family! I'm glad I joined this website years ago, Ive gained so much valuable information, but I know I am going to have ALOT of questions. I look forward to sharing more and more of my car with you guys. Im leaving for work after this post so I wont be here to reply for a while, but expect some better photos soon!! :)

Congrats on the upgrade, I too acquired my MM around your age.

If you're planning to do anything to it, make sure it is a tune first. The stock shift schedule is garbage.

Congrats on the ride! Intake and then tune would be ideal!! Besides that be careful with the launching... :) attract to much attention. ;). Took me till I was 30 to get the right Marauder!

Congrats! Nice color also. If you are like me this is the last car you will want for a while. I've wanted one since they made an appearance on the market. Took me til I was 36 to get it. Enjoy it as I know you will.

The guys are right about the tune and the shift schedule. Think about taking it to the track first with bone stock as it now is. Then you can see what improvements you get for your dollars spent. It's been a while but memory says you will be in 15s in the quarter in stock form. With tune, cobra manifolds and 4:10 gears, you should be low 14s. First thing to do is check the spark plugs. New ones are cheap & can perk things up for you.
Good luck.

Awesome! I got mine right before I turned 17, I understand exactly how you feel!

Get to know your car before you start "enjoying" it.

:congrats: Looks like a winner.

Stock exhaust flows pretty well, so unless you're just looking for sound I'd spend my money on a tune as my first major mod.

Drive it for a while first and get used to it, then you will really notice the difference in the upgraded tune.<rootbeer ;)

Congrats man! Took me twelve years to get one since first seeing one at the auto show. Had mine since September 2013 and I still grin like an idiot every time I look at or drive my car. Enjoy her love her and respect her. Just like a good woman. Those are about as hard to find as a Marauder:) lol

I bought mine in March of 2009. I can not tell you how many times I've gone into the garage just to look at it, take pictures and even just sit in it.

I still do. :)
