Hello, I need some advice. I had the 4.6 rebuilt at 198,000. The machine shop did not do a good job. The engine had to be redone and the mechanics that I used--long time mechanics of my dad and me--went out of business in August 2013. But of course, did not tell me that they were selling their shop!

The engine runs well, does not overheat, but has a rattle still on acceleration and my other mechanic says the engine is burning oil. There is also a leak. I'm exhausted with the car after spending 4,000 on the rebuilt and I can't go back to the shop that did the work because they aren't there! The engine is leaking and the other shop said they could possibly rebuild the rebuilt!

Is this a good idea? I finally located 2 remanufactured engines by Jaspar. Of course with a core exchange it's about 3,000-3500. Is repairing the rebuilt the way to go or getting the Jaspar motor? I've invested too much into repairing the car but love it. However, I'm a realist and know there is a limit to how much is too much. Please advise.

Mo's Speed Shop, a vendor on this site, can certainly help you, but you don't show where your located in your profile. Mo's is in NW Georgia. Marty, owner of Mo's, will chime in later I'm sure. It's just that I'm up early.

Marty, don't mean to steal your thunder.
