Greetings everyone,
I've been doing a little research/lurking here and decided I should get signed up. It seems like a pretty good site and I hope I can give back a little one of these days.
I've previously owned an few fast cars, an 04 terminator being the fastest hands-down. I really miss that performance, but I don't miss being cramped up in it on long trips. I've had a couple of Crown Vics and although comfortable, they just seem like they wouldn't pull a greasy string out of a cat's ass.
If I take the best of the Crown vic and the best of the terminator and shake them up in a jar, the stuff that comes out looks a lot like a Marauder, so here I am.
I'd like to end up with an eaton or whipple car one of these days. I'm starting to look around for one that could be an everyday driver, not too worried about the dragstrip or the pro-street stuff.
If you see me asking stupid questions, please be patient and use little words. I'll get there eventually......

Welcome, they are out there ready to go...I believe there is a Trilogy car out there right now for $11,000. Cheap for what you get. Eaton swaps are very popular as well and can be had reasonable. Good luck on your search!

The performance part is why I got a Marauder also. My '95 'Stang GT has an s-trim on a built & stroked engine and the brute force & torque is hard for a dd, small space, a roll bar and being in my mid-50's it became more of a toy than anything so I settled for a Marauder -vs- a '02/'03 Harley truck as a dd to go with my Lightning plus my eatonized Marauder is way smoother in power but far less than my 'Stang. Welcome but keep the 'stang, if its a V8...LOL

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I've lost money on almost everything I've ever souped up. I had a lot of fun though so it wasn't a total loss. I've found a couple of cars that caught my eye already. I know what it costs to properly mod something and if you figure that in, you're getting the car for just a few grand more in many cases.
And there's no danger of addiction if you're already addicted. Whether its a MM, my RZR, my 3 motorcycles, or my 2 powerstrokes doesn't matter much. It's like switching from bourbon to vodka......
Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome, you've stumbled into one of thee best groups of peopleI never met. People who will take two to three hours and go look at a car for you - send you pictures and advise yea or nea, people who will use small words and help you fix BIG problems, and except for the guy who teased me about tasting the green slime coming out of my gauges... ALL great folks.

I agree. I HAD TO HAVE ONE so borrowed on an unusual car from a dealer. No regrets.
Like you said, hard to mod a car and come out ahead on $$
If I had patience, I'd have saved and bought a well built supercharged car from a member here.
BUT - I have on in my garage tonight, and that ain't bad either ;)

This forum is HANDS DOWN the most adult and friendly forum of specific car enthusiasts I've been on since 1995.
Yup, we debate and tease - but our best interest and great guys willing to help are lurking all over in here.
Part of the attraction to buy my Marauder was the positive threads written here about real life cars.
Go for it, and welcome!
