So with what little money I had left I ordered two slp loud mouth 2's. They should arrive some time next week. Now when I had my flowmasters put on the p71 I had them welded at a shop. My friend is insisting that clamps are just as good, if not better since you can easily take it off in the future. What do you guys think? If done correctly, will clamps leak?

I prefer welded connections.

Welding is nice, until you need to remove something.

Either will work without problems, I like clamps because you can disassemble the exhaust if necessary without having to cut your exhaust.

i just realized the size of the mufflers might be an issue. How long are the stock mufflers? could I just weld some extension pipe onto the slp's before clamping them on?

Clamps wont leak unless you do it wrong...i had one cut crooked(looked straight when i was under the car:lol: ) and it leaked bad enough to notice. You're gonna have one of those cars that are waking up the dead going 25mph....to each their own.

The SLPs will be shorter than the stock mufflers. Recommend you weld them and also have the shop carry over the weights off the stock mufflers.

Stock muffs are about 22 23" you will be adding to make up the difference.

EZ Seal Band Clamps work best and you can REMOVE the exhaust components since the tubing is not creased!!

I ran there on my AC Cobra Replica side pipes for 10 years with no leaks at all!!:bows:
BTW, NAPA carries these and they are not expensive!!
Clamping FTW.
Do you realize you just bought a stainless steel straight pipe?

^What Zack said....No baffling at all..these resonators have the buldge in order for noise to kind of cancel itself out. I bought SLP lm2s, and gave them away.I understand moneys is an issue, but AT2525s would work better for you... unless you don't mind the raspy, and drone sound.

I use clamps, like said if installed properly they work great.
And SLP lm2s are insanely loud, your local law enforcement will love you lol.

damnit.... before I bought em I asked in a thread about the aero turbines on which was better, of course I got no response. I heard them on my friend Sauls Marauder before, I liked the sound.
