I've started some threads to learn what mods work well on our Marauders.
Members have been very helpful with replies and parts locating.
With good reason, every thread gets several prompts to install forced induction first, to save time and money trying to get FAST with external bolt ons and a stock long block.
To undersand my goal with Marauder, I'll post that I have owned and built forced induction street cars. I've learned expensive lessons on what forced induction requires pertaining to additonal modifications to perform safely and reliably. I have a fast supercharged street car that I enjoy.
I'm still working on it, so one is enough.
See other toy here v v v v v v
http://youtu.be/QDQ2fLuEwog

If my situation changes, and a fast Marauder is the desired result - I will start a forced indution build, or buy a car already built and proven to perform.
Until and if then, my Mauader is an awesome car, intetionally being left simple and easy to maintain and enjoy as a street only car on a budget.
Please be patient as I read and ask questions....
Thanks for all the help in my leaning curve:beer:

I hear ya brother! I think it would be cool to have a supercharger myself, but it's a lot a money, and something I don't see in the near future. The Marauder is a rare car, that's got potential to be faster. I've caught the modding bug! There's plenty to do to make it go faster, sound better, and still be reliable. People awe at mine all the time, and that makes me happy. I put mods on when I can. It'll never be the fastest Marauder, and I don't want it to be. I'm constantly asking questions on here, and everyone seems to actually wanna help! And now I'm rambling..

I was the exact same way when I bought mine in 2008. My plans were to keep it bone stock. Needless to say my plans got a little altered. :D This is definitely a unique car and each of us have chosen a route that makes us happy. It's been a marathon and not a sprint. Enjoy your ride and mod it to where you're satisfied. The people out here are great for knowledge and can answer just about any question you'll have.

Everything I have ever bought, I planned on leaving stock, my first mod on the Marauder was a twin screw, it quickly went down hill (as did my bank account) after that. I myself have never been happy with having the "norm", and based on your TA, your not either. It will only be a matter of time until you can't resist it any longer, my will power was low, I only had mine 3 months before I ordered the TS.

You will learn an eaton swap or homemade Centri kit is cheaper than all the NA mods needed to break 13.5.
I predict you will cave eventually :D

Darren, normally you would be right! But the wallet just won't even consider FI, and the T/A became a weekend toy I need my big boy pants on to even go for a ride. Its bad ass, but was more fun to drive with heads/cam/convertor in the reliable 12 second range.
Marauder will get enough bolt on's to be improved and still easy to drive.
I have a disability, so driving high powerd street cas is getting less tempting as I age. More fun in a unique, long driving cruiser with some snot - I wont flip my decision.

If a faster than high 13 sec MM becomes a need/want, I'll start over - not add bad money atop of good, solid daily driver..I'll buy one FI already done.

My cuerrent T/A - it is in the garage covered up too much to justify going that route again. it's radical to have tires break loose at 60mph and knowing any fuel starvation will detonate that grenade. I tuned it with conservative spark tables to avoid knocking, and a rich A/F ratio to keep cylinder temps down.
I have a boost actiated meth injection kit to install, but have'nt needed it since taking timing out - and driving the car less.
I get why tons of MM owners go FI, but it's late in the hobby for me, I'm winding down after 30+ years.

I have never owned a supercharged car. When I had my 91 Mark 7 LSC, I did every bolt on plus a custom exhaust and headers in preparation for a KB SC, but other things eventually got in the way. So, now, it has become a mission for me to SC something and the Marauder seems to be the perfect car! I don't want anything SUPER fast, but just to experience some good old fashioned HP and TQ in a hopefully reliable setup that won't drain the bank account any more than the Eaton Swap itself. I luckily have all the (what I would call) necessary bolt ons for a SC application. So, Eaton Swap, here we come! ;)

It makes sense to me, that's why I've kept my mach 1 na with a few bolt ons. I can drive it around daily, not get totally bored of it and I can keep driving it while the marauder rips the transmission or rear end apart every couple years.

My next project will be a buick big block, and I'd like to see it run the quarter similar to my mm without power adders. My Wildcat and Marauder weigh the same so it's just a matter of making similar power and traction.

And, I am not suggesting you SC yours. To me, the car feels quite fast as it is (even though the time slip doesn't show it, lol). If, for some reason, the Eaton swap looks like it won't happen, then its 4.56's and widened wheels for me!:D

I forgot to mention, that the other cool thing with this Eaton Swap is that you can pay as you go. That was one of the road blocks with the LSC. Coughing up $3000 at once for their kit, plus installation, tuning etc was a tall order at the time. So, it never got done.:shake:

big block buick N/A moving a heavy automatic car = no problem!!
WELL PORTED OR STAGE 1 HEADS WITH A WELL SELECTED CAM AND INTAKE - YOU'LL HAVE ~550+ CRANK HP/TQ ON PUMP GAS.
Buick 455 parts have come around in the past few years as have Pontiac.
good luck!

I still say make her a shaker with some nice cams and motor work and leave it N/A. After reading your last thread, I realized that I really need to get my tuning straightened out and get some ET times, I think I can give the guys in the mid 13s a real run for their money, and if that's the case...it may stay N/A

Yup - swore to myself the car must stay mild - that's why I love it!!
I still will stay N/A unless I find S/C is affordable - TO ME.
Seems to be much more achievable on these cars than ones I've done before. My mind is open, but the wallet, well:rolleyes:

I had a Cobra and sold it because it was way too hard to work on.
And If I say that.....it must be a PITA to work on!

:) That T/A is latest in a long line of 'go fast' for me. Back in the mid 90's I was one of the first to make 600fwhp N/A with a stock block/head cast iron street Pontiac 455 - on pump gas....that was when the "I can do it" frenzy took over ;)

I will be taking my time, it isn't cheap to do things correctly, and I have much learning to do with these 4V mod motors.
But even N/A as first planned, loving the Marauder!!!
