Looking at replacing the shocks & struts soon, and I'm wondering what the consensus is on which is the best for our cars. I want to keep stock ride height, but I want a quality ride. I think I read something a while back on this, but I can't find it. For some reason Monroe is coming to mind, but I want to check here. Thanks in advance!

Happy with my Monroes. KYB is an option for more $$.

I had a thread posted, went with Monroe severe duty, rockauto with discount code is cheapest. All 4 with moog coils came to around $390, then another ~$300 for the front struts to be installed...i tried but failed miserably. Rears were easy to replace.

I used oem I love it. I got 90000 on originals and put in addco sway bars front and back

Monroe severe duty all around.

Great ride and height. Good for everyday use and firm enough for when it is needed....

KYB gas adjust all the way. Can find deals on the 4 corner kits!

For inexpensive shocks I would go with the stiffer KYB (555603 is the number for the rear, don't know about the front). I tried the softer 555601 in the rear and it was OK, but did not provide enough damping.

If money is no object and you want the best available, Penske 7500DA are amazing! I have run OEM as well as KYB 555601 and they don't come close to the control and ride quality the Penske deliver.

Same old story, you get what you pay for.

Leaving in 10 year old springs with new shocks isn't a great idea as you wont get the full benefits. I did a complete front end replacement with all Moog and for shocks on the front Monroe severe service, for the rear German made sachs super touring. Added ENS poly bushings for front and rear sway bars. Drives better than new.

Just installed KYB, better than stock ride, handles great!
