I just read a post where one of our members had to take it on himself to bash Dennis Reinhart!!?? :(
I have to admit that my first few conversations with Dennis were very "business like" and not very friendly.....Sort of left me a little cold but he is a business man and this is not only his hobby but also his source of income so now I understand that idle talk on the phone is costly and his time is better spent running the business!! :)
Now......all of that said......I have to say that Dennis Reinhart is a "CLASS ACT" and since I have spent 6 hours or more at his shop I understand him much better now.
My observations while there....... Dennis answers (personally) one phone call after another all day long (8-10 an hour), emails customers and vendors, places parts orders, chases UPS shipments, creates work orders, manages all customer work, does all billing, and deals with many walk-in customers like me every day!! From a 1991 Honda A/C compressor to a S/C installation......I personally don't see how he keeps up the pace and still remains "cheerful" to anybody who calls in....especially complainers......and we all know there are some folks that just simply cannot be satisfied!!! :nono:
My experience with "Mr. Hands On" has not only been enlightening but also has produced one "Hell Of A Custom Program" for our 04 cars!!!! :bounce: I'll say it again.......It is like the car lost 1000 pounds!!!! Dennis saved this program for me and anyone else interested.
So to all "Nay Sayers" and "Complainers" please try to understand that this guy on the other end of the phone sincerely has a passion for all high performance vehicles of which our MM's are a new and very small part!!! It will require time, experimenting, and patience on all our parts to achieve our performance goals and Dennis has been an "OUTSTANDING SUPPLIER" to our effort!!! He WILL get it done if you are willing to work with him!!!
Thanks again Dennis!!

It is nice that you guys come to Dennis's defense. It is nice to hear that you guys have gotten good service from him. There are some of us that didn't fair so well. As you have read, one of our members didn't get the service you guys got. I also did not get the warm-fuzzy feeling you guys got. When I called him he didn't return my calls. He finally return my call when I brought it up here in the forum. When he called me he asked me to remove the thread that I had written about him not returning my call. He also blasted me here on the forum. When I did speak to him to ask about prices he acted as if I was bothering him. As you see in my sig I took my business elsewhere. So I guess all I can say is great for those of you that have had good experiances with him. There are those of us that won't do business with him until he learns better customer relations.

Well I see your post Big slim I am sorry if I apeared short with you on the phone, what can I do to make this up, it is extremly difficult to answer the phone non stop and and answer all the questions I get asked, I know of no other vendor that sends parts out free, I do it all the time, I send out a replacment chip while waiting on you the customer to send yours back, I have sent out duplicate orders, yes members here have recieved two drive shafts or two tuners, one person got two PI converters, I do the very best I can some days I am not so warm and fuzzy, but you know what, I will never sell you some thing you dont need, I will give you a refund if you ask, so there is nothing else to say, and what I say to you on the phone or PM I thought was private not a public forum matter. So again if I can help call me, I will give you a 10% discount for being rushed with you on the phone.

Just a word of defense, Dennis isn't going to win personality of the year sometime soon, but you need to consider a few things. No one else has placed the effort into research and development of several different aspects of these vehicles. He singlehandedly had the mods on our cars in place in the beginning. There are some more vendors that have come along and also are quite competant but he was the ONLY guy in the beginning. I have purchased many items from him and have talked to him several times on the phone. What you initially perceive as attitude is really just Dennis. I thought the way you did slim, at first, but over a period of time you realize thats his delivery. If you have spent some time at his shop you'll realize the time he places into that shop and the phone NEVER and I mean NEVER stops ringing. He might come across as gruff but the information is first class.
The guy gets pulled in so many directions at once, how he keeps it straight is amazing. I have had some words with Dennis, and while at the time I felt I was right, He really seemed to take note, and did several things in an effort to appease me, later I felt I was unfair to him about this issue, and am remorseful for bringing it up. But what you need to remember is he made SEVERAL attempts to "make the customer happy" mainly me.
I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with Dennis, and fell rather good about it. I am going back soon for a few grand more. I KNOW he has my best interest as to my vehicle at heart.
If you want to take that away because he isn't the Avon lady then you have your priorities in a different order than I do. If you take a look, this car line is dead, what we have is IT!!!! Dennis is placing time and effort into a customer pool which has no room for growth other than what is produced right now! I have to patronize someone who has done the things he has for this line of vehicles.
In closing, you may not want to hug the guy all the time but what he has to offer is first rate!! and deserves my loyalty...and yours!!! for what he has done.

The first thing you should know about Dennis, is he is retired military. All you vets out there will understand. Very business and to the point.
I spent three days in January with Dennis both at the shop and dinner out with him and Sheila. You can't ask for a more accommodating person. He will bend over backwards to take care of your car and get you back on the road. His word has been absolute solid in all my dealings with him the past year and a half.
It's been a pleasure doing business with him.
You've heard the term...busier than a one armed paper hanger with crabs?
add anserwing the phone to all that......you'll have Dennis.
Thanks for what you do for our Marauders.

For what it's worth, when I called Dennis to order my rear sway bar he was very friendly and helpful. He didn't seem to mind talking to a newbie instead of a gear head at all. When I get ready to do my stage 1 I'm definitely calling him for the parts.
Satisfied customer here.

Anyone who knows Dennis....nows that the CAT runs the show around his shop.....
To each his own I guess....I have been up there many times and had nothing but good expieriences.....Retail is a tough business....you can satisfy 999,999 customers 110% and you pick the phone once with something else on your mind or in a rush and that person gets PO'd and bashes you on a forum.
I don't know if that is the case here....I just know from my own expierience that retail is tough.....
Either way being the good business man that he is I see he has already offered a discount on your next purchase.....

Dennis may not be the best pr man in the world, but he knows his business and is fair and honest. He is a very busy man. I am very pleased with the work he did on my CV Sport. Thanks Dennis

Members, Dennis may be a little gruff, but so what! At least he is honest which is the quality above all others that is respected when making a mod purchase. Dennis gets a lot of window shopping calls, people who talk all day and buy nothing! If you have an idea what you want from your car (Dennis will ask you) Dennis will give you advice on what to purchase. I have spent a lot of money myself at Reinharts and I did not need the man to kiss my A$$ to do it, I just needed quality work, advice, at a good price.

No one will ever be 100 % happy with any vendor all of the time. Ive talked to Dennis a few time's and he was always helpful and respectful and because of that I've spent a good amount of money on his quailty parts. When ever I had a problem he always gave me good advice. When I ordered my stage one kit he sent 2 of them by mistake. I called him up right away and sent one back, He credited me right away . He's a good business man , his parts are very good and I've found him to be a straight up and Honest guy. Anyone who has ever owned or managed a Business knows you can never make everyone happy, but I must say Dennis Reinhart really try's his best.

..some of the crap Dennis goes through in a day. People dropping their cars off an hour late and expect a mircle, thanks Dennis. People showing up with out calling to see if he has time to look at their problem. Some do call after-hours to see if he is there and has time to fix their problem. Dennis ordering parts over the phone asking and double checking with the person on the other end if they understand what he needs and if they have it. Still they deliver the wrong part! My hats off to you Dennis and better you then me, I don't think I could handle it. Oh yea and the phone ringing constantly with people asking questions.
Is he gruff on the phone sometimes, but I would be too. Trust me I think he handles it better then I would. Dennis is also a man who does not like to give up, he will try and try and then try again to get something to work.
So if you want to critize go ahead, but think do you really understand what he goes through day by day. I think not. If you want to call me a CRONIE too so be it, but if I want good dependable work done on my car by a honest businessman I know where I will take my car. Do you? That's why I drove 14 hours from Maryland to Flordia and back again and I would do it again if I had too.
Thank you once again Dennis for all the hard work and long hours you and Lonnie, Artur and Gantz (sp?) did on our car. It is greatly appreciated.
Another happy customer of Dennis Reinhart.

A crony? I bet DR would love having as many cronies as possible, I know I would. I just hope he considers me a "crony"!!!
cro·ny [ krṓnee ] (plural cro·nies)
noun
close friend: a close friend, especially one of long standing
[Mid-17th century. From Greek khronios “long-lasting,” from khronos “time” (source of English chronic). The word was originally Cambridge University slang.]

I don't know Dennis from squat.....but when it comes
time to get my stage I mods, I will
probably give him a call. I have read
everything he has written for this net,
and I take my hat off to him for putting
the "Mercury Marauder" on the map!
Gotta Love It! :pimp:
