Pulling out of my driveway this morning I barely clipped the huge snow bank at the end. Shattered the front bumper. I've been preaching to the wife to be careful of snow banks and I'm the one that ends up hitting one. Figures. :(

Be careful out there!

Yes, the Marauder. This bumper cover was brand new just last year. Oh well.

I have a $250 deductible. I'm going to make a deal with the body shop. All they have to do is get me a bumper and paint it. I'll show up with the bumper cover off the car already. They pop it on and put in the plastic push pins to hold it on until I get home to finish the job. That will take all of 5 minutes. The car never even has to sit in their shop. They get paid by the insurance company for the whole job and I keep the $250 deductible. Easy peasy.

Post pics of the damage. You'd be surprised what can be repaired.

Ouch. Exactly why I don't drive mine in the winter.

Bob, I think this is easier than you think. I believe aftermarket ones are available. It's the rear covers that are hard to come by, simply because of the cover having a word on it. Seriously. OEM front bumper cover, another story.

I'm sure it could be. State Farm's problem now though. It's not OEM anyway. The quality of it was actually really good. Paint job was a B-. I'm using a different shop this time though. It has really good online reviews.

Body shop won't do it unless they do the whole job. They say the insurance company is strict on this. The last body shop didn't care but the rep was an ahole.

The owner sent me a note saying how much they value their customers and to contact him if I had any issues. I sent him an email stating my displeasure with their rep. and the quality of their work. Never heard a word. Not surprised.

Yes it does. And the thing is, I barely hit it.

That's bad news :(

Cold plastic breaks easy. Melted then frozen snow is hard.

I think your car is bound and determined to have body issues

Aftermarket front bumpers are made of a brittle plastic. Not surprised this happened at all

Ill believe it when I see the factory yellow on the inside.

I'll be looking at the bumper before I agree to take it. Fully aware of the yellow insides.

Now this idiot says the last new OEM bumper he found was promised to someone else. He says he can't even find a new aftermarket one in stock. They told me I had to find one. A 2 minute google search yielded plenty of them. I called State farm and pitched a fit. Unbelievable!
