Ok, I know it is a lowly old 2V, but should still be fun when done...

Ok, well, I have decided to boost my car..N/A was fun, but I reached my limits i think without some real weight reduction.....so, what started out as a SC added to my current setup, has morphed into something way more than originally planned, but should be better in the end....geting some decent deals, and selling a few other things allowed me to go this route so far. BUT, anyway, here we go:

The basics of my build will be as follow:
-Teksid block, std bore
-Cobra forged crank
-Manley H-Beam rods w/ ARP 2000 bolts and Clevitte bearings
-Diamond 11.5CC (10.14:1CR)forged pistons w/ valve releifs and AP steel ring set
-MMR Stage 2 CNC ported heads
-MHS reground valves
-Comp xe270ah cams w/ beehive springs
-Ford GT followers
-Vortech V1 T-Trim @ between 10-12lbs of boost
-Treadstone intercooler w/ 3" piping
-Meth inj.(because I found a used kit cheap)
-60lb injectors
-Andersom power pipe
-340lph fual pump
-Edelbrock intake and fuel rails
-6061 elbow
-BBK LTs' and whatever else I can use from my current setup as well
-Good, somewhat conservitive dyno tune until I can afford a better set of cams for my application
-etc...

This is the initial setup, some of it may vary as the build progresses, but this is what is about to be underway. I have spoken with a few different builders, some others who have similar combos, as well as a few different tuners while making these choices...so now I am gonna go with it and see what happens...hopefully it will be fun...the custom piping is going to be a challange for the intercooler because of the pump for my factory RAR. I spoke w/ Chris at ADTR and he said that is one of the reasons they don't offer the piping for RAR equipped panthers.

Anyway, it will start slow, then probably go in spurts...hopefully everyone enjoys this thread as it progresses, and it doesn't infuriate anyone, or stir up any discontent due to differing opinions... http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/default_dark/wink.gif

I have no idea what kind of numbers this setup should lay down on the dyno once it is proerly tuned, nor do I know what effect my 4.56's will have on those numbers yet..but time will tell I guess...Anyone care to take a stab at what kind of HP/Tq it might make?

3.5" piping is way too big.
Stick with 3"

You really think so? I spoke with several guys who are running 3.5" piping, one even on a Vic with great results. The tuners also didn't think it was too large. I am not disagreeing wiht you, and appreciate ALL input...just wondering if you could maybe explain why? If it is too big, I have no problem dropping to 3", just like to get a better idea why, that's all. Would a centri SC require a larger pipe than a turbo? Or no?

Its too big.
The inlet of your TB is smaller in diameter than 3.5" piping. Its smaller than 3" most likely
You can make 1000rwhp with 3" piping.

You usually match your piping size to the outlet of the power adder.

Ok. Point taken. I will definitely look into going with 3" piping then. I haven't ordered that yet. I appreciate the input. Thank you

How much, if any fab work did you have to do to make the piping work?

Sweet...Not sure how much different it would be for me since I have the 02 frame and not the 03+ frame....I don't know if that part of the frames are different or not, but either way, shouldn't be too different if any

Your car is just as fast as the fastest NA Marauder. Not bad for a "lowly 2V"

I suppose you are correct...I still can't wait to see what I can get out of this little 2V boosted.... :)

Awesome bulldog! You're going to have a great build! Make sure to document everything and post pictures of the process

Sounds like an awsome project. Have I been mislead that boosted motors should be low compression ?

I'm gonna do the best I can with pics. I just can't wait to get going on it. I am waiting on my intercooler and piping to get here, I have to get a slot style MAF, and 60lb injectors still....so I'll be selling my 90MM MAF and 42's/ I also still need to get an 8 bolt flex plate still, along with some pullies since my underdrive pullies are a no-go with the Vortech....That stuff and a few more odds and ends are all I am waiting on to start doing it

Not really. When going high in boost numbers, lower CR is good. The fact I'm staying under 15lbs, using an intercooler, and using Meth, are the only reasons I am going with the 10.14:1 CR

How much for the UDP? Maybe we can work something out and have it installed along with jmod.
