Looks like I'll be looking for either a used spoiler or shopping for new one for my 2003. Mean old Mr. Winter along with -20 deg wind chill that Missouri had in January took its toll on plastic. Just pushed "gently" down on my spoiler to close the trunk on one "Freakin" cold morning and crack....it broke at the screw hole where it mounts ....crap!!!!
Anyone have any suggestions where I can shop for replacement one...dealer, after-market...?

I believe Sparta Performance ( a vendor here in the vendor section) has them (unpainted) for $200. Ebay has aftermarket ones, some come painted and some not.

For one thing, it was installed incorrectly. There's supposed to be double-stick weather stripping around the perimeter. Even so, you should never push on the spoiler to close the trunk lid.
FWIW, wind-chill isn't relevant to things without moisture in them.

Dealers sell them for about $190-220 unpainted. There are some aftermarket ones, but no guess as to fit or quality.
I thought the broken tips only happened out here in the hot southwest. All 5 of our cars have cracked the tips on the original spoilers. As I looked at them over the years I could actually see them shrinking and the outer edges pulling away from the truck lid. Almost like they were flattening out. I know they have a metal re-enforcement inside where the bolts go, so don't tighten the bolts really tight. The double sided tape is really what holds it in place and seals the deck lid.

Thanks Mr. Overlord...minus the -20 windchill, it was still about -8 air temp....dang cold...and yes, I did learn my lesson the hard way not to push on spoiler. It did have a seal around the bottom, but not sure if just age kinda warped the plastic. Same issue is on the other side, slight raise on the edge of spoiler.
Checked vendor site....199.99 primed...continue to look...

VegasMaurader...just checked the inside of the spoiler. The one I have is just all ABS, no metal plates or anything to maintain shape. Only metal is what the screws went into. Looks like with age and fatigue, the DS tape just dried out and lost its sticky-ness at the edges which allowed the edges to start to bow out...Meaning mo...$$$$$$

The OEM ones we got are more of a fibreglass hybrid type. Not mesh fiberglass but more of a chaulky stranded fiberglass. There may be different suppliers...

Wind chill is the perceived decrease in temperature due to evaporation of moisture from the skin, which is accelerated by air flow. It has nothing to do with inanimate objects.

I'm pretty certain I know the mechanics behind wind chill....and even inanimate objects have moisture in them...

I'm pretty certain I know the mechanics behind wind chill....Then you should understand that wind-chill doesn't affect plastic spoilers.

Inanimate objects can only be as cold as the surrounding air temperature. Wind chill will only shorten the time it takes to reach that temperature. This is from the National Weather Service.
