Ten (10) Years on MM.Net
It is hard to believe that I have been here on “MercuryMarauder.Net” for 10 years. Little did I know at the time that when I bought by MM, I would be joining a large nationwide car club as well as finding a new family with many common interests. :2thumbs:
Since I’ve been a member of MM.Net, I’ve met hundreds of new friends and have attended events all across the country including many “Maraudervilles”, a bunch of Carlisle “All Ford Nationals”, a couple “Louisville Bourbon Runs”, and countless Capital Area Marauder (CAM) meets capped by the annual gathering at “Berts 50s Diner”. I had no idea how deeply I would get involved with a community that loves this car as much as I do. :D
It all started in October 2003 when I actually went for a test drive after delaying the inevitable for more than a year. I brought my Blue MM home that very same day. It took me a little while to find the MM.Net on the Internetz and I browsed as a Guest for awhile before officially joining as a member on 28 February 2004. I’ve been hooked ever since.
In late March 2004, the Northern Virginia Mustang Club (NVMC) invited a couple Marauder owners to attend their monthly get-together at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. Since it was only about 45 minutes away, my son and I decided to make a run and check it out. This is where I met my first Marauderers “merc” and “Mad 3-R” and I got my introduction to the world of car guys. A few weeks later, we drove to Philadelphia, PA to meet up with 17 other Marauder owners from all up the east coast for Ray the Dealers “Support the Troops” cruise night. It has been a wild ride ever since. :bows:
Thanks to MM.Net for 10 great years. I hope to hang around for a bunch more. :)
