At least one member of this board had damaged the tailshaft of his transmission. Had it repaired under warranty. Time for th Metal Matrix Driveshaft.

After I put in my 4.10s I noticed some leakage at the tailshaft. I changed to a MMX shaft and the problem went away. I never noticed a serious vibration but it was probably there anyway. I would suggest not driving it until it is checked out and maybe the shaft replaced with a MMX. The tailshaft bushing can be forced out due to the vibration and can force the seal out of the tailshaft. If that happens, you could lose enough fluid to ruin the tranny.

That sounds like a driveshaft issue causing tailshaft issues. You should be able to have the dealer warranty this as the 4:10's are not so visible, and likely over looked.
I ran hard with 4:10's and a stock shaft for over a year without trouble...knock on wood. I recently found a great deal on a MMX Police shaft and scooped it up and have had since had several 130+ runs w/o any vibrations or leaks.
I do not suggest you do what I did in anyway. The cv-pi MMX dynotech shaft really rubs some people the wrong way around here.
If you have $525 to drop...do it by all means. It's a qaulity race ready part for those that love to run over 120 frequently.
During a 125mph blast, the tailshaft seal was pulled out of the trans due to the stock driveshaft bending or 'driveshaft whip' as the pros call it.
I drove 4 miles home and only lost 1 1/2 quarts of trans fluid.
Yea, get a MMX Driveshaft.
You will hear a wierd noise and horrible vibration if the seal has been pulled out. Its also very visible if you look under the car, the seal is bright yellow and will be on the yoke of the driveshaft.

Out of curiosity, what is the weight difference between the stock Marauder driveshaft, and a upgraded metal matrix driveshaft?
