How does this work? Send in your core, and you get somebody else's old steering rack with new seals? Guaranteed not to leak or you can pull it out and send it back to us for another crack at the rebuilt rack lottery.
I remember from my old '97 Crown Vic paying the local Ford dealer to rebuild the front end and put in a "rebuilt" steering box. It had nearly an inch of play in the wheel. I told them no way, put another steering box in. Ended up with 1/2" of play, acceptable for an old recirculating ball steering box that did not have a new worm and sector gear.
And that is the point. They don't actually make new gears for many steering boxes, they just replace the cheap parts. What is the story on Marauder steering racks? Can you get them with a new rack and pinion, or do you just get seals and bushings?

I got one from the dealer. They are all reman, nothing is completely new.
I went with the dealer one because they are supposed to replace anything that is worn and the MM is a unique rack.
Some parts houses give you a police one and say it fits the MM. Check the part numbers and if it is the same as a police or "HD" is is probabaly not a MM rack. I think it was about $400 or so. Went right in, no leaks and definately can tell it was much tighter than the old one. Same number of turns lock to lock as our other MM's so it should be the same ratio.
Comes complete with the pressure valve and inner tie rod ends.
