Does anyone have the Metco driveshaft safety loop installed and SW full exhaust? If so, any gotchas with the install of the loop? It looks freakin tight in that area! Thanks!

As with most.... the drive shaft must be taken loose and then the loop goes around it then the drive shaft re-installed and then the loop...Did mine that way..

The only problem I have with my DS loop is that since my car is so low, my 4" DS slightly brushed up against it when the rear suspension compressed. It scared the crap out of me. and I parked the car. I have yet to fix it, but I know its going to involve cutting and rewelding the loop.

The SW exhaust is NOT designed to have a Metco DS Loop! I have alignment issues with my SW system, made worse by the DS loop. The incoming run into the X-Pipe portion is right under the loop. It was designed to be installed higher. You have to go a little extra lower, so it doesn't touch the loop while driving. Basically throws everything off a bit.
Because I intend to run my car at high speeds on tracks, I chose to keep my DS Loop. Have forced lube tailshaft and a DynoTech DS with 3.73's.

I see your SW wants to keep drifting off towards the passenger side like mine kept trying..
It was a royal PITA to get it straight, but enough tapping here and jacking there I got it.

Interesting. It seems some have clearance issues with this setup and some do not. I wonder if other factors can be involved such as SW/Metco date of manufacture, oem or aftermarket driveshafts, etc.

Well it's good to know I am not the only one that had issues with it. That thing royally pissed me off. Especially considering the cost of the system.

We will find out on this issue probably this weekend. I have a Metco loop that was just produced and I have a SW exhaust that is several years old. I bet it turns out to be an interesting combo. I will be installing a Metal Matrix DS at the same time. We will see...

+1 on this!! The SW exhaust hit the passenger Watts link and the driver's seat belt reinforcing bracket. Sure, there will be some variation with every installation, but I think they could have utilized more of the ample space in the axle area.

I haven't heard of even one good fitment from the last group of us in the past year. The ones I know personally are not newbs to something as easy as exhaust.

My SW exhaust is 3 or more years old. It didn't go in without a fight all kinds of things were wrong.
I still haven't had a chance to get at the DS loop etc. funny how life gets in the way. I plan on installing the Metco loop, rebuilt tailshaft with BOC rear forced lube mod, rebuilt MMC driveshaft, jmod, trans filter and FoMoCo trans pan with drain plug. I will post results. I will probably start a new thread with photos for all the picture whores. lol
