Sounds beastly, power seems to come in smooth also. After I read your quote on the other thread, I thought to myself he probably made anywhere between 615-630 hp and I figured the torque would be around where it was.
Next step should be is to spin that baby to the MOOON.. Believe it or not 23 psi is where that blower comes to life. Any plans on taking it to the track?

Not without a higher octane gas sir, not even close.
I bet the timing is set at 14-16 degrees, exactly where the threshold of detonation is with such a heavy car.
The only way to make more power with the same boost and 93 octane is to add the crusher setup.
My 3.4 Marauder at 14 degrees and 20psi made 655rwhp for reference, and that is with the crusher.

It'll get there changing the pulley out and race gas. Correct. With the 3.0 pulley it jumped to 22Lbs at 2200 Rpm's yesterday so Jeff shut it down. I have a 2.75 and a 3.0 we can use. I wish they sold race gas in my town! :D

Of course some VP 109 would be in order, I don't know that $1,800 extra for the crusher could justify itself on the dyno, I was there for the dyno tune and seen what the car did with the smaller pulley at 24psi and pump gas, and his car has 16* of timing if recall correctly.

Gotta agree with Zack numbers are easy to say....but hard to acheive.......
with the crusher inlet its well worth it, you get the larger inlet, throttle body and large Maf from whipple, especially when you go to spin the blower faster....
I may sell the spare crusher inlet I have as it only fits 2.3 or 2.9 whipple's

Chris made 614RWHP with a regular Whipple inlet @19lbs of boost and 93 octane pump gas! i would say he achieved his objective and then some!:bows: I dont see a $1,800 crusher inlet justifying its initial cost, but go ahead and test it out.

I've seen the difference with and without the crusher and like I stated in my quote :when he goes to spin it harder the crusher will make the difference at the higher levels.....BTW my cost on the crusher is substantially cheaper than 1800.

Agreed the KC works bad ass forsure at the track I bypass the front heat exchanger and the water temp drops another 10-15 degrees, in the cooler months near the end of the season the water temps are so cold it can freeze up the KC core so water additive is a must to stop the core from freezing up.

From what I've seen the crusher on the 2.9 aint worth it. The original inlet does the job, now on the 3.4 it's a whole different story. The stock inlet is a restriction for that blower. Money could be best spent other places if you have the 2.9. Just pulley that thing down get it into its sweet spot and enjoy it.
With that being said I do want to see what the crusher can do for the smaller 2.3 Whipple when one spins it past 21 psi but I can't find any information on someone using it on a 2.3
What were you torque numbers with the 2.3 CWright?

dang, CWright you got me really thinking of going in a different direction with my build it was going to be a 5.3L with a "little" VMP 2.3 TVS, but I love the way a 2.9 Looks in the engine bay. might just go with a Teskid stroked and add the 2.9 next year.
The second picture you posted is that your garage lighting up the engine bay or the light under the hood?

It's the LED lights shining down from under the hood. It was still dark outside and I left the lights off in the garage. It really caught my eye.

Fastblackmerc actually did the install for me. I'm out of town right now but when I get back next Saturday I'll send you a pict. Also hit up Jim and he can tell you what he put in there. They give it a nice glow.

This made me think of you Chris. Unclear if the inlet is better than stock though. Might be worth talking to him.
