Took th Marauder out this weekend, had a fantastic time "cowboy-ing" the car all over town.
Was sitting at a stop light and I felt the car's idle go rough... Light turned green, gave it some gas, and the beast stumbled and died upon acceleration.
I glided across intersection, up into a parking lot, and had to push the beast the last 15 feet (uphill) with only my 13 year old and I vs. the beast.
As a teaching moment, I discussed all of the things we'd just done RIGHT with my son: being aware of the car, not trying to restart it 30 times at the intersection, finding the first place to stop saftly, STOPPING instead of trying to progress, etc.
As I popped he hood, he said, "yes but what do we do now?" as I then explained, we examined the four rudimentary element systems together, gas, oil, coolant, AIR...AND THERE IT WAS... MY JTL CAI INTAKE TUBE HAD COME UNDONE, just as I had read about here, two days before.
I grabbed a screwdriver from the trunk kit, had him "hold" the JTL unit, and we re-aligned and tightened the clamp while I explained the MAF etc all in less than 3 minutes total!
Just a shout out and thank you to each of you for posting your issues. If I had not just read about one of your undone CAI posts, I may have missed seeing my "separated" intake.
YOU NOT ONLY SAVED MY DAY... BUT ALSO MADE ME "COOL" WITH MY SON FOR ONE MOMENT!
And, helped exponentially in advance of when I needed it, by sharing.
