the green mustang is exactly what I owned for 15 years except with a 351C with a 2V. I even got a Mach 1 hood and rubber bumper for it. I built it into a 351 4V but never finished the car. Had a .040 over 460 with C9 heads, stealth intake, 780 dual line holley, Lanati circle track cam waiting to go into it. The orginal owner found me and wanted to buy it back and I sold it to him and then sold the motor. Wish I never had got rid of the motor.

OBTW the price of classic cars has finally come back to earth somewhat. They should not sell for as much as they were getting. 160K for a boss is a lot of money considering what 160K would buy otherwise.

That mustang went on ebay at the end of the show with a 24 hour window. Current price is now $200,000

Well, what did he say about the Marauder?

First 2 minutes into the episode

Richard and Aaron are in the truck on their way to look at a car. Aaron says what kind of car are we looking at it? Richard says I'll give you a guess it starts with the letter M

Aaron says "Mercury Marauder"

cool

Quoted from my response in the other thread

Here is My Marauder with Aaron.

That's flippin' sweet! He genuinely looks happy. What did he say about your Marauder? I thought I remember an episode of F'n'L and either him or Richard made a comment that they didn't like 4 door sedans.... I could be wrong.. and I hope I am. That is still an awesome picture!

Aaron really liked the car. I had left the key's in it and he reached over and cranked it up lol!! He said he was out with a different car and was impressed with the performance in response that he invoked lol.

$200,000. for a pristine 1971 Boss 351 Mustang would be ridiculous.
$200,000. for this plain-jane '72, needing work, is pure lunacy.
But there are a lot of loonies out there; so, who knows?

PS - Oh, but had I not parted with my 1970 Boss 302 back in '95!

Yes the plain Jane 72 fastback is over 200k right now

I would think any other listing this would be a joke, you know. Someone bidding high just to be an ass.

But Gas Monkey is a legit business. I don't think they would let it get so high without investigating.

My whole thing is, why this mustang? If someone is buying this because they saw it on the show, why not any of the other vehicles they've had for auction on eBay go this high? They had the Gas Monkey Gasser (55 Ford) for sale a while back and it didn't break 35k.

What stinks is the person who sold Richard the car initially is probably looking at this going wtf I sold it for 7500 and it's making 200k!?!?

sent from a Samsung Galaxy far far away..

Maybe they realized the doors have rust on it. Still insane at 100k

Edit: it sold for 51K. I saw it at 206 earlier. Strange....

look at all the bid retractions at bottom of page. Some guys were driving up the bid - period.

the retards paying high dollar for routine cars are keeping this from a hobby to a stupid game. not even investments.
I wonder every time they say a sale price on tv - really? I doubt it.
It's tv.

That is ridiculous.....51K for a 2barrel 302 V8 auto Mustang with a '21 shades of green interior??....?

BTW: Why was 0***t driving up his own bids from $30,000 to $50,000...???

We had a Ford '68 LTD wagon, green with a 302V8 auto....looked very similar to that sedan.
I got it as a hand-me-down and drove it to college for 2 years until the frame rusted out and it got dangerous.
Sold it to a mechanic for $150.

That '69 XL is begging for a FORD Motorsports 460CID Windsor engine....what a sleeper that would be....:bows:

I lost the link but it is on MSN home page.

1969 Shelby GT 500, 8500 miles the owner passed away and the car was never washed for fear it would rust! Car is under 40 years of dust:lol:
The write up................

From dust to dust, people and cars come and go, but sometimes the old is reborn … and out of the dust emerges something immaculate.
A 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 428 Cobra Jet is a mouthful to say but it will drop any car enthusiasts jaw. This particular garage-find was owned and perfectly preserved by a now-deceased automotive connoisseur.
Larry never washed the car for fear of scratching the paintjob or cause even the slightest bit of rust. Yahoo News (http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/rare-mustang-heads-to-auction-after-decades-spent-gathering-dust--only-8-000-miles-150351958.html)http://global.fncstatic.com/static/v/all/img/external-link.png estimates that the only time the car was ever washed was before delivery. Accordingly, the car is in absolute show room condition, except for a layer of dust.
This snake features a larger, 428-cubic-inch Cobra Jet engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission, which has only run 8,500 miles in total. The spark plugs, belts, fan, and hoses are all original. The only items that are not from 1968 are the tires.
Considering this highly collectable GT500 has sat since 1973 it’s an extreme rarity. The Mustang was originally purchased for just $5,245 in 1969. Now, though,it should sell at auction for over $100,000.
The car will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan Auctioneering (http://www.rgilliganauctions.com/4-25%20brown%20contents.html)htt p://global.fncstatic.com/static/v/all/img/external-link.png on April 25th.
It also looks like pack-rat owner also owned a 1971 Ford Ranchero with only 53,000 miles on it, and get this … a 1974 Ford Econoline Custom 100 van with only 554 original miles. Both vehicles are for sale along with a variety of other mint, perfectly maintained vehicles from the estate.
