Anyone have a wiring diagram for the factory sub amp?

I'm going to install a single mono amp and small 10" on the shelf where the factory setup is. Its long overdue. Going to start ordering stuff today or tomorrow.

Did you guys use line outs from the low side into the factory amp? Or did you tap into the L/R rear channels to a line out for the L/R signals?

Any good sources in the back for remote amp turn on?

do you have an aftermarket head unit?!?

if so you can run rcas from it to the trunk, and most have wires ready to be connected for the remote wire.

Or you can purchase a line-out converter and tap into the speaker wires from the trunk

Stock Head unit.

then i would look at a line out converter........or you can wait and see from the schematic about the factory sub wires and use those

I personally dont like using high inputs(speakers) into an amp for subwoofers, doesnt sound as good to me.

if your going to get an aftermarket head unit anytime soon I would hold off and run the rca's and remote wire from it to the amp

Plan on keeping the stock deck. It powers the inside Infinities just fine. I just want a bit more boom. I'll only need a 1'CF box so that will be cake to build and install where the factory stuff was and I'll retain 100% trunk use.

Orderd an Sundown E-10D4 V2 10" Sub

Powering it with a Alpine Digital http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/mrv-m500

It has both speaker level and RCA's. Anyone use the pre-amp signal wires to the sub amp? That is what I'd like to use.

Well then all you would need is the line out converter and use one of those add a fuse thingies for your remote wire.

I'd like to avoid a line out converter. Never had good luck with them. They usually go bad and start buzzing. Drives me nuts.

Best part about these newer amps. They turn on using the speaker signal! Nice stuff.

Does the factory deck send full frequency to the rear speakers or does it have a built in cross over?

The sub came today. Amp should hopefully be here tomorrow. Time to start box building! :)

Does the factory deck send full frequency to the rear speakers or does it have a built in cross over?My understanding, and I may be wrong, is that you get full frequency to all 4 regular speakers, but the sub output is low-pass filtered.

I would use one of these if you want a clean signal.

I have used them in many installs where people want to retain their factory radio. You use the signal wire/wires from your factory subwoofer to the PAC, then run a short RCA to your sub amplifier. Run your power and grounds and your done. No remote wire, etc. If I was ever to have a vehicle where I didnt change out the factory radio (doubtful) I would use this product. HTH
