37811So I recently hit a curb and made my differential shift out of place...car won't drive, wheels won't spin out of place lol anyways, I'm ordering a full 31 spline rebuild kit that comes with everything I need including FFRP 4.10 gears and FFRP 31 diff., bearings, shaft and the whole 9 yards. Only problem is I need to make sure these shaft are the same measurements as the oem ones and for some reason I cannot find the length online of the stock shafts. I read on Moser they are 34 3/8 for the marauder of their 31 spline. The brand I'm replacing them with are Yukon and they are specified for 98-04 mustang 8.8" but doesn't have any info on the length of them. What are the stock axle shaft lengths? And which are better Yukon or Moser? Read pretty good things on Yukon btw. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Go with Moser.
I believe Mustang axle shafts won't work.

I ordered mine from Dorman and so far so good. It took about a day to do both axle shafts

Your accident more than likely did not tear up your axles but rather the housing....You'd better take your car to an alignment / body shop that has a rack they can check the housing on. Upgrading the axles and such is a great idea but if you can't move your car due to this accident your axles themselves are the least of your worries.

Rio Grande Auto Parts has a complete 2006 axle assy, 3.55 locker with 44k miles on it. Call 915.584.2531 and see what they want for it. It'd be easier to just swap the assembly.

Thanks for saving me a lot of typing.

Yeah the assembly is still good, had a couple guys look at it. I read they are about 34 and some inches oem. I decided to order the kit but minus the axle shaft and just order them separate from Moser since Moser has them specifically for Mercury Marauders. Thanks for the replies and I will have them take one more look at the assembly and if not good I'll call that number lol thanks again my pirate brothers. Pics coming soon...

I would definitely have the watts link and control arms looked at as well. I've seen one other member kiss a curb with less severity and the watts link crippled and took the hit. I like my Yukon 4.10's, so far they are taking the beating way more than my last Ford Racing 4.30's!

Yeah I'm replacing those as well :) ordered them from Sparta. I was going to go with the yukons since the package deal comes with them but they're aren't long enough and they only offer mustang axles which are shorter then ours. Looks like I'm going to have to go with Moser. Hopefully these are just as good as Yukon.

been running Moser 31 spline axles in a way more powerful car for years = no problems, except seals leaking.
Did you call Yukon see check on Marauder axles? may just not be 'listed'.
Moser only supplier of ready to use 8.8 Marauder 31 spline axles?
