First i would like to vent about the POS these style buckles are...its not just ford.. all manufactures switched to these in the 90s and they blow. My 83 hurst olds has nice metal ones! Anywho... how do you replace these? My passenger side buckle has failed. It wont go into the buckle regular or with the button depressed. Do i have to remove the seat? How i do that? Thanks from extremely pissed off MM newbie.

IIRC it's a T50 torx bit. You might be able to slide the seat forward enough.

Before you make yourself crazy take a look with a flashlight and make sure nothing fell into the buckle... I've seen that happen quite often.

Can they be pulled apart and put back together?

It's a 18mm bolt, don't forget to unplug the cable.

Mmm, must have been thinking the seat belt assembly? I've had these cars stripped down enough times I should be able to do it blindfolded. :)
