So i daily drive my car but i want a lil more. I dont want to destroy gas mileage. My trip to work is 25 miles each way. Im not going to SC or change gears. Would a tuner be suggested? What kinda gains could i expect? My car is bone stock (60k) with only a K &N in the stock air box. I plan to drive this daily for at least the next 5 years and maybe then i will religate to weekend duty where an SC will be more do able. I thought about exhaust but i like the quiet during normal driving. Suggestions?

4.10 gears and a Zack tune. It took me 8 yrs of reading posts about them before I committed. Your gas mileage drop is minimal compared to the satisfaction you will get and well worth it. Trust us:)!

My goal is to beat my boys impala. He got a cai, tb, tune, 3:73s and borla. My car feels great from a roll.. it rips after 3000 but it feels heavy off the line.

You need the 4.10s and a tune.

3500 stall, headers and 4:10 gears. It's a blast and if your engine is healthy enough, it should do high 13s.

If your considering mufflers, Flowmaster Delta 50's pretty much resemble the stock Marauder exhaust note.
Here's mine with rear cat delete and Delta 50's. Would be more quiet if I left rear cats on.

First, get a tune & tuner from Marty or Lidio. You'll be amazed at the The transformation. Get a second tune installed for the 4.10 gears.
Second, install 4.10 gears. You'll lose 1-2 MPG but well worth it.
Third, underdrive pulleys, colder plugs and 180 thermostat. Tell your tuner so they can compensate for for them, ie. more timing and idle speed adjustment.
Fourth, install Addco front and rear sway bars, Metco rear control arms, Watts link and driveshaft hoop (for safety).

Cai, zack tune, ud pullies. I dont have 4.10's yet, but everyone says to get those too, but you will lose mileage with those.

It's only 1-2 MPG..... If that "breaks the bank" then you need to drive a Prius.

Everyone who's been on the fence about doing the 4.10 swap raves about how good that car is after they FINALLY do the swap.

I'd stick with a tune and 4.10s, the 3500 converter is nice but you don't need it for a daily driver until you do other things - just my opinion I call my car the dumbest daily driver around but it is a ball - 10 years of fun going around the block.

I'd take you for a ride in my trilogy, but then you would be searching for eaton swap parts.

I'm guilty of that...although my gears are in the works the noticeable difference in just the tune I have is enuff to tell me I'll REALLY enjoy the gears and won't even care if I loose 5mpg...

thanks for all the replies... I'm seriously considering gears now BUT... I will also be driving this car in the winter in Pittsburgh. 4:10s in the snow sounds like a ton of fun and yet no fun at all. im not considering a beater either. I bought this car to drive something nice everyday and I realized that means winter too. I'm for sure gonna get a tuner. I shyed away from a CAI after reading differing opinions on the gains on a virtually stock car. seems as thou the stock box will flow fine for my purposes.

as others have said, get a TUNE!! night and day difference. I also noticed a nice pick up of mid range power with the 2 1/2" midpipe and magnaflow mufflers i had made along with a few extra miles per tank too

yes I have delta 50's and the dyno test show the deltas in many cases have a better horsepower range over the 40's:burnout:

4.10 are OK in the snow. Drive it like any other car.
As for the CAI, JLT claims 10-12 HP increase IIRC. Plus it sounds good.
