I overheard someone in KY say our factory brakes are horrible because they have a rubber brake line as suppose to steel. Can the lines simply be replaced with steel ones and thus having a better braking system?

Sorry if something if I am missing something painfully obvious that is wrong with this idea. .. I know nothing.

This is the link that everyone will post.

Looks like they are out of stock right now though.

Changing to the steel brake lines will not increase stopping power, what it will do is increase pedal feedback.

Have you ever actually read any of the posts on this forum that don't relate to the benfits of NOT putting kerosene in your car at the track?

Good one!

Your not installing steel line you are installing stainless steel mesh covered hose. The mesh prevents the hose from "ballooning" under pressure which gives you better feedback and a rock hard pedal.

It's not as easy as just swapping parts, you need to bleed the brakes too. You need to have the right tools, mainly the proper tool to remove the bleeder screws or you will be replacing your calipers too. If you have never done this before take it somewhere, because if you manage to get any air in the ABS module its going to Ford to get fixed.

Are you asking me to stop touching myself?

Actually it's easy to swap out the lines then gravity bleed the brakes. I did gravity bleeding after doing the TCE upgrade....

I know..... this is Dom we're talking about.

Dom would try to do the anti-gravity bleeding.

Dom, check out this link:

I had Russ (03mmmonroe) install mine after I bought them. Very noticeable improvement in braking afterwards.

If you're strapped for cash, do what I did....bought the SS brake lines when I had the money, then visited Russ about 2 months later when I had the money to pay him to install them. My OEM brake lines did indicate stretching/ballooning had occurred, and that was at ~95K....can only imagine what condition yours may be in.

It's fun to go fast...not so much when you can't stop.
