So I ordered new axles from Moser. Only thing is when I took the old axles off I noticed the Moser axles didn't have the anti-lock crown ring on the end of the axle like the stock axle does. I called summit racing and they said to take the old one off and put it on the new axle, but the thing is they look welded on there. How am I suppose to take a part that's welded on, off and why would I want to do that in the first place when I already paid $426 for this product. Anyway just looking for guidance to see how any other MM owners who have installed these axles did it since they didn't really explain much. How do I take the ring off? and what is the proper name of that part? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. [B][B]

Ford can get them off, then press them back on.
Its easier just to buy new rings and have them pressed on.

It's called a tone ring. I've read that they can be removed by prying them off with a couple of big screwdrivers. As far as pressing them back on, I would think a drift pin and a few taps with a hammer would do it. Bear in mind I've never actually done this, though.

Need to find out how many teeth on it.
they do not come off easily.
Just buy new ones and have them pressed on.

I just bought new ones from the dealer and installed them with a small hammer tapping evenly around the rings, very easy installation.

Just heat them up until they fall off the old axles, then set on the new axles and let them air cool. I've done this before when swapping my axles out.

Thanks guys. Called the dealer turns out they don't sell them individually for some reason :/ and searched the web and couldn't find a company that sells them, I believe they have 35 teeth if I'm not mistaken. And Spectragod I will be sending you a pm. Once again thanks everyone. Will post pictures once they are on and a final one when I get the diff. Put it
