The aftermarket ones suck. Pony up $200 for an OEM grille. They even come with the Mercury badge.

I've bought two from certifit that were perfect. They were already black and even slightly more flexible than OE to absorb rocks. I would rather have these over stock even if stock were priced at the $56 I paid for these.
