View Full Version : The wounding of my Marauder...

Since I tend to write books...I'll keep this short and sweet unless someone needs specific details to help me with the questions I have.

At the end of January of this year I was coming back from NC. I got in an accident, luckily at around 30 MPH and the only damage to me was psychologically (add more to the bin). Anyway, the majority of the damage is the front clip...fascia, hood, fenders, side markers and headlights. The rear fascia is repairable...one major scuff mark and some scratches/minor gouges. The car spun around 1 & 1/2 times after impacting another vehicle that was in my lane on a two lane ramp. The sides are untouched, the LT wheel won't turn and the steering wheel is upside down...oh ya, the heat doesn't work now? It's been sitting there since it came from the yard it was towed from.

Just part of my NOW 8 years of HELL.

My question is mostly...can anyone recommend a QUALITY body shop/collision center/dealership within an hour or less of me to have the car brought back to it's pre-collision state...which was NO DAMAGE or previous repairs EVER!!! It has only...after the NC trip from Maine to NC to well...the Mass border...low 67K and it STILL has that new car smell.

Needless to say...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH HHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, if anyone knows of anyone selling the Marauder specific parts or knows of new (OEM ONLY!) places that have them...that info would help as well when I finally find a place and start the repairs.

OK...it's a book...at least it's not the novels I usually wright and it's for a good cause...the ONLY good "thing" in my life...well WAS...now it's an underivable heap in the garage.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

 :shake:

Sorry about your ride :(
My advice is to troll craigslist and junk yards for the front bumper. If it is fully insured task the body shop you choose to help locate the parts.

Thanks for the help and suggestions so far. I found a place last week and...SURPRISE...there having problems finding the (OE ONLY!! -NO- AM on MY car!!) Marauder specific parts. I'm also going to be searching the sight as well as the web, but I figured since this thread is here, might as well use it as well. These are the parts I need:

Front bumper cover
Grill
L&R headlights
L&R side markers
Wheel - Found new one ($1580!!!)...looking for good used one to save money if possible.

Between the insurance company (GEICO) trying to screw me on pushing AM parts and threatening to take my rental away because the body shop is having problems finding parts...and numerous other issues Geico...and finding parts...and being forced to drive a Fusion...and before that a Taurus...and all the other issues in my life...I'm going to...

:mad2:

At least I FINALLY found my wife a car for now...2000 Town Car in good shape, no rot, interior in great shape, runs and drives...and even has a WORKING moon roof...for $1250 including tax and title!!!

Just needs a A/C pump which he already had and gave to me, an exhaust leak, interior switches intermittent...small stuff. It also only has 12700K on it.

Thanks in advance
ANY AND ALL HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!!

Try vendor here Bigcowl.imp for some of those parts.

Last I checked the drivers side headlites and both marker sides were available from Ford. Pass headlite is obsolete as are the front cover and grille but they do pop up for sale here from time to time. I would start a "Wanted for my Marauder" parts thread to draw in people who might not look at this one.

BeCareful on the wheel as there is a cast Mustang wheel that is almost identical to the MM wheel but the center hole is slightly different and the center cap will not sit flush.

Is this a daily or leisure car? If the latter i would get off conventional insurance and switch to haggerty. They took EXCELLENT care of me when my 83 hurst was hit. They let me find nost parts and paid for the high price of NOS ( $1000 just for the grills)
