View Full Version : alternator plug bad?

Thanks for all the replies about the alternator in my previous post. I have another question. If I unplug the connector at the voltage regulator and slowly put it back on, I can the idle of the engine go down (like there is a load on the alternator ) and the battery light will go out for about 15 seconds. After that, the light will go back on and the engine idle will go back up. The battery voltage stays at 14 volts, although once is did go to 16 volts and back to 14 volts. Battery is new. Any suggestions on things to check or is it just a case of the wrong aftermarket alternator? Thanks.

Thanks,just wanted to check before I ordered a new one. Looks like it is time to call db electrical!
