So how far should the adjustable pedals move front to back? I have a feeling mine are broke because they move about an inch or less. I dont hear any bad noises.

If the gear is gone they usually don't move at all. If that's what the case contact Curless for "the cure". Normal travel is only an inch or so I believe.

Here is the do it yourself repair thread if you buy the brass gear from Curless that FBM said. The factory gear is palstic and usually cracks witin a few years. Memebr Curless has brass gears made to replace them. Send him a pm if interested

Normal travel, according to the owner's manual, is approx 2½ inches.

Normal travel is about 3", if your pedals move less than an inch your gear is broken. Repair is straight forward enough but requires basic tools + a grinding tool. I'd consider it a basic to moderate level repair.
