I wonder if the computer will retain how many times it has engaged the line lock system.
It's a great idea though!

somebodies going to take their mustang in for some warranty work and the dealer is going to hook up some monitor and say "i see you used your line lock feature last week.....do you have prove that this was during a legal track race??" then the guy is going to say no and BAM! no more warranty :D

Bet if you think about it, using a line lock is not wearing on any of the braking parts, just shredding up the tire.

but i think they would care about when you use it though, technically speaking if your not a track of some sort you shouldn't be using the feature.... I think thats how ford will see it also

Look at some of the mustang promo posters, lots of them show the car I'm a cloud of smoke like it just finished a burnout. Part of the heritage.

Shock on the drive line too..
I'll bet ya there will be a PID that monitors engagement and time engaged.
Remember the launch control in the GTR's? haha

"The big catch with this feature is nestled at the bottom of the Ford press release. Ford says, "Electronic line-lock for 2015 Mustang GT is intended for use only on racetracks. Racing your vehicle will void your warranty."
Use it to race, race and void your warranty - nice!

Besides, if you can't do a brake stand with a clutch your man card should be taken away. (unless of course you have a valid disability) My wife does them on slicks n' skinnies.

Very true. But I must admit I found it quite useful waiting for the last yellow and not worrying about rolling forward.

And a great promotional piece! This concept has "gone viral" and they have gotten tons of exposure for it. Smart move for Ford.

I think I recall reading that the 2015 Mustang is supposed to have independent rear suspension.
If this is true and the car ever hooks the way you want there will prolly be half shafts left on the ground after any hard hook up and launch.
Just saying.;):P:(

Meh, I've watched just as many people shatter solid axle shafts as half shafts... Its all in the launch.
