Well I am pissed. New block put in 2k miles ago and got back from a drive yesterday and my car sounds like a damn sewing machine. I hope it's not a rod bearing but if its the chain guides or tensioners I am going to call up the dealership and complain pretty good for putting crap parts back in. Hopefully I will post a vid tomorrow so I can get some input. why not bring it back to the dealership because of a supercharger and by the time I would be able to get it back to stock I would prolly be able to get the timing cover off.

I know this was in a thread or 2 but harmonic balancer puller really the only thing I will need specialty wise? I am not a mechanic but good at watching youtube videos hence how I installed the supercharger system! for the water pump does it have to be removed along with the oil pan? I just did a coolant flush and oil change 300 miles ago:mad:

Also any input would be amazing thanks in advance! Like gaskets and other parts!

Can you shoot a video and post it up?

Well the video won't upload it freezes every time. But I used my stethoscope "screwdriver" and it's loudest at the fuel rails. No abnormal sounds from front timing cover or valve covers or oil pan. What now lol. Every now and then their is a loud tick in between the sewing machine like sound

Also don't know if this use to happen but when I shut my car off the cai hisses for about 3 seconds. I am stumped all te spark plugs are tight and a distinct ticking from each injector but why would it all of a sudden be so loud?

I wonder if the hiss you're hearing is actually the RAS venting. Mine does that (I think it's when I shut the driver's side door).

Similar but only when the car shuts off and not nearly as loud! Anyone got any ideas about the sewing machine sound tapping through my injectors and fuel rails? Wondering if its echoing from the block or the injectors themselves.

When my one chain tensioner and chain guide went, I only heard the noise (I just called it a tick but could of been a sewing machine noise) at idle once the car warmed up and went go away once rpms came up above 1200 rpms. Noise would go away after rpms came up to increase oil psi and since the car was warmed up the oil became slightly thinner. I could hear the noise all over the engine and sounded like an exhaust leak from inside the car. I traced it down the top passenger side of the timing cover. Sure enough when the timing cover came off, there was zero nylon material on the chain guide and the tensioner still held pressure. The driver side chain guide was fine but the seal on the plastic tensioner (crap) was blown. Replaced plastic tensioners with metal ones and replaced the chain guides and arms as well.

If you remove the timing cover the water pump and oil pan do not need to be removed.

Yeah it's just weird that I can't hear anything but smooth action from the timing cover but the injectors and fuel rail I hear the identical noise as if your standing next to the car. I checked all the injectors and all were seated fine and no gas smell.

Yeah I know what you mean, it took myself and two other people to pinpoint my noise.

Well just got back from the shop and saw triple threats new setup. Looks amazing joe! The owner said the injectors are definitely making their normal sounds but the other noise coupled with that is a crappy pulley somewhere. I guess I will just wait and see if it gets worse and change a pulley out. We will see thanks for the input!

Loosen the belt and give each pulley a spin. Worked for me.
