Congrats! I was drooling over that car. I bet anything that 'what rods?' when he was selling will be forged rods with the Diamond pistons.
You scored nicely :)

Thanks chief, Marty, motown, Chris and everyone else..I'm not getting crazy with this car..may even pulley it down one size..Sure it was rebuilt on the bottom end with diamond pistons and rods and nitriding the crank, but still original block..not a mmR or Cobra. Have to let the Mo's crew check her over and go from there. Just wanted a trilogy car and this one came about with other upgrades I don't even have..Headers, widen rears, wilwood front, 4.10s etc...

big time!
I hear you on maybe toning it down, but - seems like the boost/tune was on the edge before the forged rods/pistons. If Marty thinks you won't window the block after he tunes it, Id leave her beastly :)
That was my attraction - the mentioned parts and the raised boost..either way, Trilogy car, , good history, good miles, great mods, SB = WINNER!!

Lidio did the tuning before and he is known for being safe on tunes as far as I hear. I do want to keep the tune as beastly as I can and keep it a safe too..I know there is no guarantee. It was tuned for 91 as that whats avail at seller area and I will tune for 93 and change it from chip to direct sct flashed to pcm. Hoper your eaton swap is coming together!

Congrats, man! I would love to pick up a real Trilogy car too! Sounds like it has a lot of nice mods. If Martyo and crew think it's good to go, then I would let her rip! :burn:

Congrats man. Drop a +4 Metco pulley on that thing and turn up the wick! That aluminum block with internals will hold up loonnnggg after that Trilogy runs out of breath...

Shoot for 500 at the wheels and don't consider looking back.

Ask Jerry about no guarantee.....Build the bottom end with good parts and then you don't have to worry about it.

The bottom end has some good parts..Diamond pistons, rods and nitrided crank..but I m not pulling motor to change block or other internals..no budget for that. I know you all have sound advice from experience and have been there done that. I'll keep it as "hot" as it can with what it has.

I like my vortech car..This one just came about and I decided to try for it..lower miles and Trilogy equipped which I always wanted, with other stuff mine doesn't have. So it worked out, seller didn't have to sit long on it, he kept a few spare items to sell seperatley to get a few more $$$ and I got a little better price.

yeah, seems like previous owner pushed the stock engine a bit and got unlucky with that piston deal. Not really tuning/ excess boost caused. But - the resulting rebuild w/forged internals is a huge plus for you! Sounds like you have a good plan. I'm happy a great member here scored that car - it is my favorite Trilogy MM of all the ones I've seen. I'm waiting on my car to return home, Eatonized ;)

Awesome to hear your eaton car will be hme soon..I've never even been in a trilogy/eaton marauder..Just my non-intercooled vortech. So I know I am in for a treat.:banana2: I'm sure Marty and Jeff will go over what the car has as for internal etc. and let me keep as much Hp and TQ as i can and not be on the edge too far. I love the idea of a 450/450 or greater car, but I don;t want to grenade it. i know there is risk in any boosted car. I understand that. It's risk vs reward.

Funny you say that as I'm sick and tired of hearing my Trilogy screaming all over town for the last few years! So much so I rarely even stab it anymore.. I've been seriously contemplating a turbo or Vortec. If I stayed roots, definitely something more quiet!!

Damn cops can hear me from half a mile front and back!!

I've never had a roots blower or any power adder except for this centri. The car won't be driven daily so the whine shouldn;t be much of a problem, but I never did really think about that part of it. It was either buy this or add an intercooler to mine, big brakes, install the 4.10s, update exhaust, maybe a stall since it is centri. These are things I'm not capable of doing, well other than the brakes prolly. I originally bought mine as a daily driver upgrade from a CV sport and well, you know the drill..The mod bug hit..If I would have known, I would have bought something already done up as they say. I got the car for a good price with all that it has and almost half the miles of mine which I know really means nothing as we have proof here of low miles to 250,000 miles.
