If I run 225/40/18 in front and 245/45/18 in the rear would it negatively affect my car? ?

You might be OK with that combination as far as interference with the Traction Control. The difference in tire height front to rear is about 6.3-6.4%. Just slightly outside the accepted 3-6% range. However, the % difference is pretty close to the 255/55/18 and OEM 235/50/18 combo that I ran for awhile with no problems. Check the height and revs for your specific make and model tire. The estimated values are:
225/40/18 is 25.09 inches tall (804 revs per mile)
245/45/18 is 26.68 inches tall (756 revs per mile)
From a performance and handling standpoint, I would think that the narrower and lower profile tire up front would be prone to more understeer as compared to the OEM sizes.

They will look very small in the wheel well, if you lower it, it would help some in that area.
