I am narrowing down the tire search to a pair of 265 50 18's Nitto 555's. I am a bit leary of the 295's on stock wheels. Plus, I don't know how long it will be before I get my Eaton swap done on this car (or maybe just buy a Trilogy car later).
Anyway, Walmart seems to have a really good deal on these tires. However, the last time I tried to have some different size tires put on my Mustang there, they wouldn't do it because of some factory tire rating issue. So, on their site it says this:
"WARNING: For safety reasons, Walmart will not install tires with a load index below that of your vehicle's Original Equipment (OE) tires. Please make sure that the tires you select meet the load index requirements for your vehicle."
What does that mean and how could it apply to me buying the 265's instead of the stock size?
