Looks like the ProCharger is already there......did it happen under boost???

No. I had did a couple high speed runs. This superheated the engine, and when I performed a small burnout it then started producing the noise.

I feel for ya man. Mine went right before loosville after limited360 spent a week of his life on detailing, headlamp and stereo mods

I still have to autopsy my last motor, it's taking up space in the garage right now - but I'm convinced it was lack of cooling mod that did the damage to it. Tickticktickticktick she goes...

RichardP, I'm really sorry for your loss, it sucks to be there.

Thank you all for the concern. No cooling mod here. Unfortunately I did not hear of this "engineering flaw" until a few days ago. I will decide what to do with the car after I get a mechanic's opinion.

Here's your mechanics opinion:
You nuked a rod bearing.
Time to remove it and assess the damage.

Well judging from the first post of the thread..id say so man. I probably shouldn't have used the term high speed run. I went from 0-60/65 three times.

I was wondering..Someone on here a while back got a rod bearing noise. They pulled the motor and just put in a crankshaft kit and bearings and it seemed to run fine, reusing the existing rods, but new rod bolts.

It was a NA car though. I always thought when a rod bearing went the connecting rod end was messed up as well.

Has anyone every done just the crank/bearing kit and not a full tear down for a new rod?
