OK Buckeyes or Marauder family

I have been wanting to get a group together for a trip to Wright Patterson AFB and Museum some of us have talked about this in the past. Thinking heading down after work on a fri and going for the day sat, staying over sat night up to the individual.

So check your calendars and lets play with some dates. I will go down and see where hotels are as close to base as possible. Im thinking June or July.

This will not be limited to us Buckeyes, any of the Marauder family is welcome if any wish to attend.

My only weekend plans at this point for those two months are Carlisle.

I would probably be able to pull this off but would probably just stay the night at my sisters house in Cincy to save money but I will see, any weekend in those months would probably work.

Depending on when you roll into Dayton, there is a large cruise in on Fridays nights in bevercreek (weather permitting) and a cars and coffee on Saturday mornings just south of town in centerville.

Since I live in Dayton, I may be able to offer a little guidance, if a group is coming I can possibly get with some local hotels and see what they can put together rate wise.

Past that, with summer on the approach, there are literally dozens of various car shows/cruise in's in this local area.

That is cool info but the Museum is the priority and the group can pick the car show later if they wish to, we have to see how far away they are. Thanks for the info. :)

Im thinking June or July. Early-mid June is Power Tour, as well as Carlisle. The week after (13th-15th) there is a CVN meet in southern Ontario that some may choose to attend. Just putting it out there for planning purposes.

Oh, OK, I thought being a car board, others would possibly want to do car type activities as well. Being as there isn't a lot to do in this area past the AF Museum, unless you want to get robbed downtown or at one of other fine locations the thugs like to hang out at.......

Steer you clear? Ok, leave that area before dark and if your planning on staying in a hotel, drive to Tipp City, Englewood or Centerville, there are not many gun crime free zones in the city of Dayton.

"Bad" is a vague term, I imagine it would be determined by your threshold of violent crime, myself, I consider 2 or 3 homicides a week "bad", couple that with the random shootings and home invasions...... That's just the violent stuff, loads of crimes against kids and the elderly to go along with the rest of it.

Lots of people never "experience" any of this, I see it everyday....... hell, we just had an active shooter today at the VA, everyone has a gun. Just not those that need the gun it seems.

Those other locals I posted are 15-20 miles out, google will be your friend.

Thanks Jerry, I'll try 71 to 70, Ill let you know if there are any issues. There is construction on 71 north of Columbus, but two lanes each way still open, Just watch out for OSHP!

Not sure what time we are leaving, We plan on being at the Museum at nine. We are about 1.5 miles from the museum as the crow flies, but probably about five minutes away. Give us a call when you get close.
