Well, I've spent my tax refund before I even have it. 4.10 gears, super chips tuner, stat and plugs on the way from Dennis. I asked him for a 91 octane program on the tuner, since I can't reliably find 93. I also opted to go for the Motorcraft plugs in a cooler range.
I'm pretty excited about the tuner, as one of my big concerns was being able to put the car back to "stock" if I ever need to take it in for dealer work.
Now to save up the funds for the Baer brakes...

that's fun, I'm already spending mine in my head. How does the lower octane effect the performance?

Dennis sounded busy, so I didn't press him. I figured I can always email him later for specifics. I'm assuming, though, that he can't advance timing as much with lower octane, so it won't yield as many extra horses as a program setup for 93. It's a fair trade, as far as I'm concerned, since I often can't find 93.

Haven't received my Tax Refund yet, so I'll just wait, and wait, and wait.....
well, you get the picture.
How come when the IRS has to give you your refund, they take forever, but when you owe taxes, they want theirs like yesterday.:bs: Oh well. :depress:

LOL yeah,.. that's true! Not to mention a year's worth of interest on the new house!
I was lucky only to pay that much though. I was estimating as much as 8K!
Freindly tip to all: if you decide to work on a gov't contract in a war zone,.. tell them to take taxes out!!! if ya don't they'll getcha!

I personally feel that anyone, military or contractors should not have to pay taxes during their time in war zones. :bounce: Seems quite unfair since your potentially risking your life for our freedom, only to still be owing the government you helped! :nono:
just my 2 cents, sorry it isn't "car related"

Fourth, you will love the results, I don't believe the difference between the 91 and 93 octane is significant enough to worry about....your car will fly. Congrats.

Well,.. the military isn't taxed in a combat zone  just us 'civvies'. Although, I did endure the same SCUD attacks. Oh, well... at least I made mad, crazy, stupid $$$ while I was there! Hmmm,.. perhaps I should've saved a few bucks for taxes, instead of getting all these mods,... hmmm,.. nope,.. screw it. I'm glad I bought the mods!

What is a tax refund? First of all I did not even send our taxes in yet and if I was going to get a refund it was spent and then some last weekend. Thanks Dennis!

Marty told me he's doing some performance...AND "cosmetic mods"...he sent me this pic as an example of where his "heads at"....speaks volumes, don't it?

My experience is that you can easily go with the 93 octane tuning and not really worry if you have to fill-up on 91 so long as you do not race with it. My MM is tuned for 93 and I have run 91 in it many times with no pinging. The timing pulls back with 91 and you lose some HP. It is not that noticable, but I would not do the 1/4 mile with 91 if it is set-up for 93.
