Are you folks sure the water pump underdrive Steeda pully does not need to have a raised outer lip to keep the belt from sliding off? mine is non ribbed like the stocker and it seems like the belt would slide off because the new one is flat on the belt surface..no lip edge guard? :bows:

It's not a problem, believe me. Mine have been on for about 17K miles with no problemos.

But...Marty on the other hand

Thanks to cyclone03 in Ennis...his was put on the CORRECT way in the parking lot. How much did you pay to have those "professionally" installed Marty??!! :help:

I hope it's not the same wrench doing this... :nono:

Yum, yum. My tax refund is gonna taste so sweet this year!!! I am convertuing my refund into horsepower and torque. The tax gods were very, very good to me this year! Oh blessed mother of acceleration, don't fail me now!

there does seem to be a front and back to the water pump pully... i guess i'll have to test fit the belt before fully tightening that one pully

I thought the same thing...appears unusual...but there is no problem.

Yes, there is. The "shallower" side should be facing out towards the front of the car. Enjoy the bolt-on 12 RWHP you're about to get.

^^^what TAF and CRUZTAKER said^^^

There's no need of a lip on this pulley as there's no side-loading (side tension)on the belt at that point.

Dictionary.com

Side-loading adj.
What happens when Marty takes a hard right of left turn in his Marauder.

NOTE: Sorry folks, I was away for a few days...and I'm just catching up on the "slams" I received from Marty while I was gone.

I did a dyno test before & after, picked up 10 hp, 10 ft-lb.

Thank you for the HP and Tirg info. Only one other question, that is , between the Ford pullys and the Steeda pullys is one better than the other?

I guess I don't understand your question. The Steeda pullies are "underdrive pullies" and the Ford pullies are stock.

For more than you'd ever want to know about the underdrive pullies...put those two words in above in the "Search Box" and you'll get volumes to read.

Net/Net...they are one of the best "bang for the buck" mods for a N/A car.

No question about it. My highly calibrated "butt-o-meter" says that I got 10.9 extra RWHP and 11.2 ft./lbs. of torque!

Seriously, as cheap as these things are, I feel like a fool for waiting so long to get mine from Dennis. More HP per dollar than anything else you can do.

I just got a set but have yet to install them. I just got dyno'd three weeks ago and will do it again after the pulley install. Will post my results.

well, I'm half way through installing them. I have the water pump pully off, and the main pully bolt and washer off (using screw driver in the torque converter). I've been using 4 little steel wedges at each side of the pully to drive the pully off by hitting each wedge with a hammer a little bit to wedge them in between the pully and the block.. so far I've moved the pully 1/2 inch off the crank. I am doing it like a surgeon (insert Weird Al melody here  )..but it is a pain. luckily I have my new drive on ramps..and could not do it without those and my crawler. any way, if I give up my current track,,,any one know what size bolts fit into the stock pully so I can attach my 3 prong pully puller? I have the fan undone, so I can move it out of the way easy enough.

One bad part.. I pulled into my garage and up on the ramps..but not far enough so I can't close my garage door...and it's going to storm tonight... hope no racoons are looking for shelter in my engine bay!

I wouldn't advise hammering on it in any manner. The oil pump drive is on the front of the crank, and you risk damaging the seal. Use a puller.

All done. I needed to get a harmonic pully 3 bolt puller from NAPA Autoparts this morning to finish er up. the 3 claw pully puller I had just did not fit.. how easy with the right tools once again. What a difference in the car now. At any speed, it is like it just went on a huge diet and lost 500 pounds, it's quickewr and faster and feels alot livlier. very very happy guy today.

p.s., the automatic belt tightener is a Biotch to move over while trying to get the belt back on. gives the old bicep a good workout.

I never check the numbers but I'll tell you this.
Before you put them on go find your favorite "test" area, stop then launch.Pay attention to the rear tire sounds and how the car pulls.

Then install the pulleys and repeat.
Mine would just go without the pulleys after you could feel a little more pull and the rear tires would just start to "speak".
But to me the real change was passing from about 40mph,nail it and the revs climb much faster than stock. The engine revs freer with the pulleys.
